Rock band story from the POV of the bassist.

Meltd0wn ๐Ÿšซ

I thought i had this under my follow list.

Story is about a rock band as it grows and becomes famous as told from the view of the Bassist who falls in love with the female singer he became best friends with although she is a lesbian.
I think the band is named after a bird and the title is the bands name.

This is by Stultus The Ravens Fly at Night. This has been revised and I don't remember what was changed (cleanup or complete rewrite) so it may not perfectly match your memory.

I saw a bunch of Intemperance volumes available for Kindle. I don't know if he broke his existing text into smaller pieces, or did a lot more writing, but you might want to have a look if you're a fan.

This story fits your description;

These Girls Can Play by Dr. Paco Jones

Bob is a "retired" professional bass player looking for something to do. He receives a demo tape of an all girls "Garage Band" from a good friend and can't believe what he hears. He remembers these girls from three years prior. Follow Bob, Heather, Michelle, Maryanne, and Janell through the trials and tribulations of a rock and roll band. From forming the band all the way to the last live performance and a little beyond. The girls all love each other and also love Bob.

Hi all,

Also, in dead tree, Espedair Street,by Iain Banks. Again a rags to riches story from the point of view of the Bass player.

I really enjoyed this book, but then I am both an Iain Banks, and Iain M Banks fan, and virtually stopped reading for year when he died.

Regards
Julian
