Half written when the gestapo ran off with everything, but not been able to get back into that one when i got the part story back nearly 5 years later. Plan to finish the sequel, but have to rewrite a lot as world events changed it.
terrorist attack gone bad
I was going to ask if there was a way for one to go good, but then I remembered the terrorist who stumbled down the stairs on his way to a suicide bombing after putting the vest on, eliminated himself and two others.
Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab roasted his legs and package trying to set off an underwear bomb on a flight. I think that can count as one going good.

IIRC, it didn't actually burn in the sense of catching fire, he ended up with a chemical burn like what you would get from an acid or other caustic chemical due to a reaction between the explosive and his sweat.
I looked it up to refresh my memory and get his name. There was an actual fire that had to be put out by the flight attendants. His pants were gone along with third degree burns on his legs. The burnt package is inferred due to the source of the fire being in his underwear.
He is serving four concurrent life sentences. He at least won't be having children after the fact. I doubt he has to worry about ever having constipation though.
