The general plot was a young man is forced to leave his village to go on a quest with what is a suicide squad. No one is expected to return. They succeed and are rewarded but when the boy returns home his love is married off to someone else. He ends up in a nearby village where he lives, for a short time, with 2 young women. His house is burned down by two idiots from the first village but he survives and escapes to go visit the elves who shoot him. The author then said there would be a sequel. Has anyone heard of this story?
