Double Hidden Shelter

limab ๐Ÿšซ

All that I remember is the MC inherits(?)is given(?) a "doomsday" bunker with extensive surveillance in the area from a rich man. The real bunker - MUCH more extensive - was hidden behind the one he was using.

It was NOT a missile silo.
I don't remember it being post apocalypse.
I can't remember why he was using the bunker.

Did the MC move from Florida after buying land in Nevada? Land was next to an Army WMD storage, and the cabin had a bidden fully stocked shelter? I believe the MC became sherif of the area as well?

Check out if it's this

That was the one I was thinking of. Was having some CRS issues though. Thanks for the link, it's worth reading again.

limab ๐Ÿšซ

Sorry it took so long to get back to you, but that wasn't it. I had been meaning to reread Shamus Journals anyway.

The MC was using the bunker to hide himself and at least A lady. I want to say it was in the Rockies/ western U.S. I can't remember if "his" bunker was a camouflaged entrance or an outpost/decoy. The searchers were zeroing in on the area when some inconsistencies lead him to the better hidden, better supplied bunker in the immediate area. I seem to recall a letter from the guy who gave him his bunker explaining the system. But I might also remember the new base as being manned.

It is not by cmsix

Sorry for the crap description guys, any other suggestions?

In Hawk and Chipmunk there are two bunkers that are used. One belongs to Chipmunk's grandfather and its hidden behind is cabin and accessed via a hidden entrance, the other is a military installation where the admiral takes them to which is minor bunker installation with a more extensive one hidden under it. That's the only other story I can think of with bunkers in it other than Castle in the Sand where he buys an old silo and finds a hidden bunker built into it which many had forgotten about being there.

It is not Castles. I have been meaning to reread Hawk and Chipmunk for a while.

I'll be back. Thanks for your help.

I have been meaning to reread Hawk and Chipmunk for a while.

The bunkers in H&C and after the halfway point and aren't a major part of it. When you do find the story you're looking for I'd love to know what it is.

Who wrote that one?

D. J. Pedersen
I've got it as a .doc, but it's actually plain text.
It's been enquired about here many times.

There's a premier story where the mc builds or updates an underground bunker I believe in TX... and somehow ends up with multiple young women involved. IIRC there was a hidden secondary bunker.... sorry I don't remember more as it went premier only status halfway thru the story and it was a recent move say in the past last two years... the last thing I remember them doing was driving a fair distance to outfit the bunker after painting it...

Bingo! That's the one.

Thanks everyone I had to reread some very good suggestions, and stories, but it was East Meets West.

For some reason I thought it was older, and even if I had thought of it I wouldn't have considered it due to age.

Thanks, It was driving me crazy, limab

Popped 'em up in my browser; screen-copied 'em and pasted into my favorite text editor; combined 'em and saved. HUGE file for a text story: 2.7MB. And it's pure text. NO binary. If a trojan or virus can get through plain text, we're in it far deeper than deep.

That's easy - buffer overflow 101, AllYouNeedIsAVeryVeryVeryLongWordWithAbsolutelyNoPunctuationAtAllInAnyWayTheNameOfAParticularWelshVillageIsInItselfNotEnough.
Luckily all programs can handle that kind of garbage.

I'm partially through the 'text' only files at that link. I don't have a problem with it.
