This is a Ka Hmnd story. While the elven army is away at war a single human stands at the entrance to the elven city and defends it against its enemies. As the king and the army return one last enemy fires a black arrow at the defender and mortally wounds him. The king promised that he will live again, but a mage misunderstands and places him in stasis. Several generations later he is released from stasis and starts to learn about how things have changed. He discovers that the dark are once again preparing to attack, and stands again to defend against them.
