Setting the father up for what? Maybe, if you could remember that detail, it would help.
Right now, I can only think of "One for the Road" by Ceasar.
to basically get him out of their lives. What I remember from the story: Mom and son outside of a hotel and they are spying on the dad coming out with his mistress. The son follows the mistress later on to her place and then they start talking. He discovers she is basically being forced into the relationship with the father.
The mom and mistress later start getting it on instead, with help from the son.
