I read an incomplete story a few years ago about high teens girl who was dying from some ailment. With her in the hospital room as she goes into a coma is her best friend. She wakes up with him in an alternate universe where she has magical powers and he is a warrior.
I only saw a few chapters and then forgot about the story. Real life likes to get into the way.
