I am trying to find what i think are two separate stories.
One is about a cave that travels in time and the mc builds a house inside to travel with them.
The other is a truck driver that checks his answering maching to find out that somepne he picked up plans to kill him and sell his stuff for money.

Scanned their stories and none sound like anything i read. Plus none had the already read notations.

The cave one if I remember was a family that found/was given a cave on their property tha they took a week or two filling with supplies before they travel.

The warning and shopping spree before travelling sound like cmsix. The family does not. There was someone who wrote about a ranch where several families had this advantage (friends and relations). Maybe Matt Helm (needs more h's)
The closest I can come to the first story is Dogman by Moonbade. The cave doesn't travel in time, but the family and all of their possessions were sent back and they used a cave. The house was sent back, too, but was disassembled.
