Jacob's Granddaughters by A A Nemo

https://storiesonline.net/s/13087/jacobs-granddaughters

Why? Because it doesn't rely on alien intervention, time travel, reincarnation, or magic.(Not that there is anything wrong with that)

It's something that possibly could have happened, up until a few years ago.

Difficult to pick a single favorite.
Lazlo Zalezac, The Reset Manifesto
Dual Writer, Recluse and Ghost
Charlie Foxtrot, A New Past
Ernest Bywater, Survivor
Geoff Wolak (gwresearch), Magestic

There are more, but these are some that I reread almost yearly.

I love most of the common listings in posts like this.

My favorites are a tie between two genres. I have probably re-read Stupid Boy more than any other because of its great use of humor in a over-achieving coming-of-age story. So, I'd have to pick Stupid Boy (Freshman to Senior ... don't ask me about the follow-on college series, ugg!) for my overall top story series.

Tied with it is the Shad doth story "Smith". I love its creativity and fast-paced, struggle to keep up, brilliance.

I'd say my list is fairly simple as well, I'll go...

Island Mine, Refusenik

The Defenseman Series, Cold Creek

Aftermath, Al Steiner

Banner Year, Shrink42

Arlene and Jeff, RoustWriter

John and Argent, cmsix

A Fresh Start, rlfj

Stone Age Cabin, Wildnature

The Private, Random Writings

A New Past, Charlie Foxtrot

The Stupid Boy series, GYounger

The John Billionaire series, bluedragon

Second Chance, Number 7

Daze in the Valley, Jay Cantrell

Alan, Julian Coreto

Legion, JustDan

Friday Night Lights, The Senator

That's a small list of my favorites.

Oof, I forgot one... I'm kinda partial to "Mayhem in a Pill." Not only do I think it is developing into a great story, but I have it on good intelligence that he is a quite handsome man and his wife's cat is evil!

You can check my list of favorite stories on my author page for more in-depth reasoning behind those choices.

Thanks,

I have no idea how anyone can make this kind of decision. I like so many stories here, by so many authors. Both new ones and ones I re-read often. I wonder if Lazeez has a favorite? Maybe it would be easier to pick a favorite that used to be here and has been removed. Probably Majestic by gwrearch aka Geoff Wolak. But we have lost a lot of other good ones, too. There are lists of the highest scoring stories, both long ones and shorter ones. And favorites picked by authors. (A longer list, for some reason.) Maybe it would be easier to pick a category that is a favorite, something like "do-over" or "naked in school". But even then the best choices are not enough to make me only want to read those stories. Just send Lazeez his $69 dollars, or whatever it is in your currency, and hope the site stays open as long as you live.

Or buy digital books on Bookapy, for which he takes a (well-earned) commission.

My top 3 would be-
Duel Writer's Vacation
Lazo's The Millionaire next door
Jim Cantrill's Dazed in the valley

It is SUPER hard to pick just one.

An All American Teenage Sex Life (part 1) was fantastic, not because of the sex but because of the emotional journey of the main character. It ends on a cliffhanger and part 2 is incomplete, but it was so good it's still at the top of my list. I have my own headcanon on how things turn out.

Argon's Anthony Carter universe AND his Clearwater universe are also so good that they deserve top spots.

I agree it is very hard to pick just one. But here is my list. I've limited myself to just one per author, but for most of these authors I can name 2-3 very good books that I will read again and again

Aftermath, Al Steiner
Growing up a Master, MWTB
Summer Training, T.S. Fesseln
Playing the Game, Rev. Cotton Mather
Kelly, The Night Hawk
Island Mine, Refusenik
Dance of a Lifetime, Don Lockwood
The Cheerleader Trap, Flying-Circus
A fresh start, Rlfj
Lightning in a Bottle, Sage Mullins
