Question about ending of Living Next Door to Heaven series

tippertop ๐Ÿšซ
Updated:

I remember people mentioning that the protagonist ends up in some sort of commune with the female characters, but that there are also male characters living there too.

What I wanted to know before devoting time to reading a story this long is if the female characters that are romantically involved with the protagonist are exclusively in a relationship with him or if they also have sex with the other men that live there too?

EDIT: Also, I was wondering if there were any other instances of "sharing" throughout the story?

So you must read the last page of every book first. Why don't you enjoy the story like the author intended and learn about it as you read. Its a well written and highly scored story so that should be enough to interest anyone.

I seriously hope that no one directly answers your question and you have to read it to learn the answer.

@tippertop

I think you'd be better off not reading the story eventually. On the other hand you'd miss a beautiful story, very well written and thought provoking as well.
I guess it is your choice.

I'm one of those who hate sharing women in stories. I understand where OP is coming from. It's interesting that two answers basically refused to tell the guy what he wants to know and criticized him instead.

From the answers I guess the story contains what he does not want.

So to @tippertop, yes, the series contains sharing.

I believe @blacksash answered the question - sharing occurs but not until late on.

Tl;dr it would be silly to judge someone on this site for his preference regarding sexual activities occurring in some story.
My poor English failed to convey my honest regret that he'd miss a great story. No criticism intended.

tippertop ๐Ÿšซ

I wanted to thank all of you that helped clear out things to me, and while I trust those that say this is a good story, sharing is one of my biggest squicks so this is one series I won't be reading.

karactr ๐Ÿšซ

I would suggest reading it. IIRC, no one goes behind anyone's back. The sharing is consensual and once one character decides to divert, it leads to a permanent relationship.

@karactr

You don't get it. Sharing, consensual by definition, is a squick for some.

I know from myself, whenever one character shares their woman, I stop reading. Period. Very strong squick.

Yet you have no problem with harem stories where several women are "sharing" a man.

Yeah, such things are seldom logical, people shouldn't expect them to make sense.

You're totally ignoring human nature and biology.

The ability of one man to impregnate, provide for, and protect multiple women makes polygamy logical compared to polygyny. Hence multiple societies on earth allow for multiple wives. Harems are quasi natural and have existed in great numbers and still exist.

I've yet to know of a society where one woman has multiple committed men. I think I read of one such tribe long ago, but can't find it now.

I'm well off, and I can afford to keep multiple wives and support them and whatever number of children they may bear for me. Why would I want to share a woman with another man? To what advantage? I'm not that generous.

Logic does not apply to squicks.

Neither squicks not kinks follow any kind of rational logic.

The ability of one man to impregnate, provide for, and protect multiple women makes polygamy logical compared to polygyny.

You have your term mixed up:
polygamy - multiple partners, sex not specified
polygyny - multiple wives
polyandry - multiple husbands

I've yet to know of a society where one woman has multiple committed men.

I'd heard of various Tibetan tribes, which the above article supports.

Indeed. I confess to laziness. I didn't look up the terms as I had my doubt about polygamy while typing my reply.

I'll leave my post flawed so that your reply stands correct.

Yet you have no problem with harem stories where several women are "sharing" a man.

I remember reading a harem story once, and one of the girls told the guy "Don't worry about us, you can have sex with any woman you want and we won't object" (paraphrasing) and he replied something along the lines of "I suppose I should make you the same offer" at which point they convinced him he was the only man they were interested in.

I kept thinking I wanted to steal that scene, and once they started talking about other dudes, correct them with "No, I said the same offer. You all can have sex with any women you want too. But I'm not willing to let any other cocks in any of you."

I've seen something similar, but I don't remember where. Husband and wife. Wife started encouraging him to pursue other women. Husband figured out where she was going and short circuited the conversation. Ended up with an agreement that she could have sex with any woman he was also having sex with.

Very silly to care about others' preferences

His other stories are good, but takes pretty amazing story to say not reading is a loss

anim8ed ๐Ÿšซ

Squicks come in degrees and are rarely if ever logical. I have a number of mild squicks that I will overlook if they are a minor but necessary part of the story. There are other squicks that just stop me in my tracks, period. Then there are triggers. Content that can trigger depression or destructive behavior in some individuals. I will stop a story dead if I run into a trigger. I HAVE to or end up dealing with depression for days or weeks on end. Unfortunately, there are no tags for the content that I consider triggers. [shrugs] Not that I can even articulate what the trigger is.

My point is not to make light of someone's squicks. It could be a trigger or so big a squick that it causes physical discomfort. Most people do not react that strongly but some do.

The people on this forum have a problem understanding this. I asked about squicks and triggers that could have in a story I wanted to read in a post a while ago, and many people started discussing many things that are meaningless, before finally someone answered my question. Many of the people arguing were rude, attacking my preferences.

Ok, bugger the rules, this is the absolute truth.

Authors can, if they pay enough monthly, access ALL of each readers data. Not just their reading preferences, their squicks, but every possible scenario that might even mildly cause them mental anguish. In short they purchase access to this extensive and expensive database just so they can write stories with the sole purpose of causing a specific reader the maximum mental anguish. Yes it is very expensive and time consuming, but it is worth it just to see you writhe in mental anguish before throwing up, followed by those endless nightmares.

Or course the authors don't just want to imagine the harm they cause, they access the readers webcam, security cam, phone cam, even their fridge magnets can be accessed...

Obviously this post will be deleted by the SoL paramilitary security force, so I suggest you copy this post quickly, but not on your computer, they'll know, they always know, wait..!!! What's that noise..?? Oh f......

According to the woke crowd you can no longer use the term Girl Scout. They say you have to call them Gender Victimised Advanced Search Persons.

No, we understand how squicks and triggers bother people. We all also know that authors don't always include all of the appropriate codes - intentionally or by oversight or due to the 50-code limit.

It is you that doesn't understand. You want everyone to cater to you so you can safely read adult fiction. Sorry Charlie, but it isn't going to happen the way you want it to.

We will also become very tired of you if you repeatedly create posts asking us if a story is okay for you to read.

Wake up and smell the coffee. It is time to change your choice of reading material or to learn to endure the results of encountering your squicks and triggers.

That kind of Girl Scout cookie is much more interesting than reader anguish.

It's also a lot more interesting than the toilet paper in the men's room and more in common with what would be on-stage at a strip club.

It's more that the women who are romantically involved with others are shared with Brian.
I loved the beginning of the series but to me it devolved into a preachy political mess.
