I've been reading some of the site's highest-rated do-overs. I've just 'finished' Abort/Retry?Ignore by Futurist (warning - lots of graphic underage sex, so it won't be everyone's cup of tea). The story seemed oddly familiar, as though I'd read it before. I 'remembered' the evil dad and the evil Dean and I thought I remembered their comeuppances, but the story ended as incomplete without getting that far.

So the question is, am I remembering a similar story, is there a complete version of this story elsewhere, or have I lost my marbles?

I used to be able to keep story plots separate in my memory. Lately, the similar stories I have read in the past seem to merge. Now when I start a story, it seems familiar. On a few occasions, that is because the author revised and renamed their story.

In the past, I looked for the green dot that told me that I hadn't read the story in the past. Unfortunately, a number of changes on SOL have resulted in my New/Read history of stories posted to SOL being reset to New. Now I can no longer trust the green dot to mean I haven't read the story. Not complaining, just the way things worked out.
