Will someone please tell Anthill Mob to correctly number his chapters, as i cannot find a link to him.

It looks as thought Anthill Mob tried to add names to all his chapters by uploading them all again, and now there are two sets of the early chapters - one with names, one without.
Invoking He Who Must Not Be Named - Lazeez, could you give the author a hand please.

You are assuming we have a way to contact him other than a feedback link. Someone may have an email address but don't count on it. One story posted implies he is a new author and probably hasn't been in the Forum.

I fixed the problem, however, it's not what you think it is now.
According to the author the current chapters 1- 10 are the prologue and the story starts at 'Chapter 1-new beginning'.
So I simply fixed the index entries to match the titles. So now the index has Chapters 1-10 and then chapters 1-21.
Sorry, I was wrong. But the story index page still looks confusing. Could it be partitioned, like some others (RoustWriter, Number 7) have managed, so unnamed chapters 1-10 are listed under a heading 'Prologue' and the named chapters 1-21 etc under something else eg 'Book 1'.

I think the problem lies in how the index page defaults work for displaying chapters. At least that is my guess. The only way around that would be if a writer could change the default display settings. At present I believe the default for chapters that are numbered only are 4 chapters or parts across. The default for chapters which include titles is one chapter per line, or at least that is what it looks like. The problem is the title chapters override or change the default listing for the entire story index so even if chapters do not have titles they will also display as one chapter per line. The fix might be complicated since there would have to be some method to adjust the display in sections instead of as a whole. That might be a bigger pain than it looks like.
edited to add: I admit the story being posted by Anthill Mob is a good example of the mixing of the two defaults. In fact its the only story I have read or followed which has shown how the two defaults can become a potential problem.
The problem with the index listing is that the chapter list changed after chapter 10. Until Chapter 10 all chapters were only numbered. Starting with chapter 11 all chapters are both numbered and have individual titles. Default index listing for numbered chapters seems to be 4 across. While titled chapters default to one chapter per line. The change to a titled chapter listing caused the first 10 chapters to change the default listing format I think. I might be wrong with the settings but I think those are basic defaults. At least that is what it appears to be from a reader's viewpoint.
The problems found with the default displays of the story index pages would probably never have been found if Anthill's story had followed the normal patterns. Normally the chapter listing format remains the same from start to finish. However for what ever reason he chose to mix the two formats. This shows a potential display problem with the index pages. Its a problem I as a reader can put up with. I don't know if its worth the effort required to redo the program code in order to prevent it happening again. That decision I will happily leave to the experts.
Same here KinkyWinks. It is why I tried to figure out what the problem was with the index display. Like I stated previously it had to be in how the display default was designed. Also probably not worth redoing the program coding in order to fix it. The display would never have been noticed if he had only used just one form of identifying the chapters. Instead he used two different forms for the same story. Not a problem for me but some seemed to be picky about it. Heck its a good story and I am enjoying it totally. So no problem for me.
It's not uncommon for new authors, after they've started posting, to notice some of the tricks that other authors employ (such as naming their chapters), and then they try to retrofit their stories as they go.
I've also had some title issues recently, as I was posting a story, mistakenly posted the wrong chapter, and had to resubmit it several times to get it right. It never worked until I explicitly told the Admins, "the chapter title is "11: Exposing Oneself to the Authorities", as every time I submitted it, they kept the original, incorrect title rather than renaming it with the correct one automatically.
