While I can understand why it happens, in complete stories are disappointing. The story 'In the Darkness Falling' by Celtic Bard being incomplete is likely the one that causes me the most angst. However, I am thankful for what has been written and posted. Although it has been a few years, I am still wistfully hopeful that there will be more.

I agree. We're only paying for the stories with our time, which we'd spend on any story, regardless of cost.
Considering how many stories I have in progress, I can appreciate how the (living) authors might feel. My frustrations, though, are why no one else has seen my incomplete stories. But that's just me, knowing that I do get stuck and that I go back to earlier chapters and massage them as I get further into the story.
