You don't have any way to directly contact you so I hope you see this:
I have at last count about 10,000 stories downloaded to my PC. Most of them are from SOL, but there are a few from ASSTR and other sites. I am 71, and obviously retired, and I spend a lot of my time rereading some of those stories.
I just want to tell you how easy it is to immerse myself in your stories. They become real to me, in sort of a weird immersive way. All your stories are like that. I don't know how many times I have read all or part of 'Runaway train' or any of your other stories. Please, if at all possible, don't stop writing.

Just because someone disappears for awhile doesn't mean they are gone for good. I had a ten year break in my posting (imprisonment followed by probation), but I've been writing and posting like crazy since Lazeez was kind enough to reactive my account.

So sometimes, they just, go crazy, as in the bat-crap kind. ;)

No offense to anyone who may be, as I've always been pretty close myself.

Wish he'd come back with another story. He's easily my favorite writer here and I reread his stories every year.

Dinsdale ๐Ÿšซ

@LonelyDad

His last blog entry was from December 2020, given that his stories are not premier-only (something which happens after 4 years nowadays) it looks as though he visits this site occasionally.
Of course Lazeez may have set the "do not archive" flag for his stories, it would not be the first time he's done that for an author.

According to the Inactive Contributors page, he is not active anymore.

That page is maintained by some of the readers here and afaik simply reflects that he has not posted anything for over 5 years.

Jay Cantrell, would you consider just visiting to say "hi"? We love your stories, but more important, we care for you and want to know you are ok.

His email link is gone, which, IIRC, means that it has been over one year since someone has accessed his account.

@akarge

OR that he deactivated it himself, I can't remember when that button vanished.

The author Moghal vanished from SOL for several years. When he returned to post a new story, it was premier-only and his email button remained deactivated. I eventually found a way of contacting him and he fixed both problems, or maybe I got in touch with Lazeez and he passed the message on. That particular problem (author resurfacing) has probably been fixed now.

Edit: I see Moghal's email button has gone again, it's been over two years since he last posted and he's a writer, not a reader.

I remember Unforgettable Weeks, with Andy Drayton and the Riley's. I *think* Jay Cantrell even said the next book was almost done, look for it in 2018-19.

I corresponded with him at that time and he said the same thing.
If anyone REALLY wanted to find him, there are enough clues in his blog to locate his actual name.

Hello to all and apologies for the radio silence for the last ... 6 fucking years? Wow.
Time just sort of slipped away. I think I've managed to log in once or twice for a few minutes before something else pulled me in a new direction.
I will post a blog update in a couple of days (I hope!).
Truly, I appreciate everyone's kindness. My old Yahoo email is deactivated so there isn't a way to contact me through here (or if there is, I can't find it).
No new stories to post, I'm afraid but I'm going to upload the one I tried mostly in vain to sell a few years back.

Agreed!

Disappointing that there are no new stories, but great to hear you are still amongst the living.

Putting my vote in for the final few chapters of The Rise of Azkoval if you get to writing again, then work on the follow up stories for your existing series.

Dinsdale ๐Ÿšซ

@Jay Cantrell

1. Very pleased that you are alive, well and kicking (although that had been pretty much a given).
2. Very pleased that you have shown up here again.

Given that we all log in here using an email address, you may need to change yours in your settings so that our esteemed webmaster can reach you when he gets the urge. Ymmv and all that.

btw, Don Lockwood also resurfaced a few months back.

Don changed his pen name after he realised he risked being doxxed. So the polite view is his old name doesn't get repeated on the forum.

I seem to remember a story in my library mentioning Don's original name when first posted. Shortly after Don changed his pen name, that author did the same in their story.

"Unending Night" was one of the first stories I read here, one of the ones that pulled me in hardest, and one of the ones that eventually led me to try my own hand at writing.

I'm glad you're back, hope you and your family are well, and look forward to reading your stories again.

@LonelyDad

I just read Jay's post in his blog.

It's probably just a reflection on the state of the world at the moment, but i'm finding it rather odd/weird/disconcerting that i'm so happy to find out that someone is OK, that i don't actually know...
