His last story post was I think Dec 2019. Then there was an ominous blog post in Dec 2020 - He was talking about how much Covid was in his county. I'm assuming it found him. Anyone hear anything??

Good lord it'd like every 2nd day someone asks about Jay Cantrell. Do a search on the forum as there are few couple recent threads I believe as well as older ones...
Well, beside the concern we here have for all our authors, Jay is one of that group of special authors beloved of many. I will be the first to admit that I have hopes of more stories from him, but I am also reminded of the efforts many of us went to to help another favored author find the special IBM keyboard he favored.
There are at least twice as many Jay Cantrell threads as there are Dizyntk Imperium threads.

You are suggesting "Jay Cantrell" should be a category the way https://storiesonline.net/d/s10/dizyntk-imperium-universe-discussions is?
Makes sense to me.
I suggested a "where is this author?" Forum category a couple of months ago. Just to group up all of those similar questions.
The reservation I have is that Jay Cantrell might (hopefully will) make a comeback and be able to field queries himself.
However I see no such issue with a Lazlo Zalezac category.

Yours was the second thread on this subject inside 2-3 weeks, https://storiesonline.net/d/s2/t12150/does-anyone-know-what being the other one.
Most of the people reading the forum will have seen that thread, "not again!" was a reasonable response.
when I wrote it I thought it was "blunt" but didn't think it was rude...and I still don't. Yes my mind was thinking "not again" when I wrote it

(Not that easy, as JC is mentioned in lots of posts, and you have do a lot of clicking to find the recent ones!)
I positioned to the very last page of results, something which took a while because I had to go to 7, 10, 13 and so on.
It would be helpful if the search offered the option "most recent first", although if one is looking for all of the other JC threads it no longer matters.

Lazeez has a nifty bit of UI for this - the current page is indicated by a wider, shaded button, click on this and use up/down arrow keys or scroll wheel to select the required page number, then either [enter] or click outside that button. You can also type in the target page, but you have to backspace away the current value. ETA:...or double click to select it, so typing replaces it. ETA2: Typing in an invalid results page number gives an error, not surprisingly; to quickly get to the 'last' page, either up-arrow or scroll up until it stops incrementing, or type in a too-large number (e.g., 9999), then hit the down arrow once. If you're typing in a too-large number, you don't need to pre-clear the box.
ETA3: This applies to all the paged search results/lists pages, so it's quick and easy to see that there are (as of now) 368 pages in the 'All Threads by Date' section, for instance.

IIRC, it wouldn't be as simple as sorting on date posted because the results are multi-tier - best matches first, then secondary matches etc. However I don't encounter secondary etc crawls through very often. Perhaps someone with more savvy than me could try to deliberately provoke them as an example - perhaps a multi-word search?
One enhancement I'd find useful is to search by thread title.
