Quick question, does the story involve sharing/swinging of the protagonist and significant others? And how would you rate it as a BDSM story?

Very, very much so.
The number of people in the story gets pretty significant indeed.
As a BDSM story? You get a little of everything.
Um, I think you might misunderstand me. Does the MC sleep with women outside the harem, and do the women in the harem sleep with men outside it
Sounds to me like the OP is another of those people who has a squick, and is afraid they may encounter it in the story.
At a personal level, I can emphasize with a person bothered by squicks in a story. It would be better if they didn't read stories that are coded with a code that is related to their particular squick.
Personally, I believe we should ignore people who want to read sex stories related to their particular squick, and then ask us to protect them from themselves because they are afraid of what they will encounter in the story.
@REP
Did you mean "empathize"?
And I didn't get what you were trying to say in the last paragraph. How would you "Protect them from themselves" if they want to read a story? I'm not really sure if you were referring to me when you talked about people who should be ignored.
Yes, wrong word popped out.
I don't know how much experience you have with similar threads in the forum. There have been numerous threads where the poster usually states something like - "I saw the FA/FA code, but I am interested in reading the story. I become physically ill when I encounter passages that describe two women engaging in sexual activities. Are there descriptions of that type of sex activity or are the activities just mentioned?"
What this type of person wants is for the other posters to stop them from reading the story IF they MIGHT find it offensive to them. That is what I meant by protecting the poster from themself.
You started your post with "Quick question, does the story involve sharing/swinging of the protagonist and significant others?"
I can't think of a reason for you to ask that type of question if that type of sexual activity doesn't bother you.
Your question leads me to think you know the story involves sharing/swinging of the protagonist and significant others and you want us to tell you to not read the story. That is why I said what I said in my post.
Why do you need us to tell you about the story's content when it is coded: Ma/Fa, mt/ft, Fa/Fa, Ma/Ma, Consensual, Romantic, BiSexual, Heterosexual, Incest, Brother, Sister, BDSM, DomSub, MaleDom, FemaleDom, Light Bond, Spanking, Group Sex, Harem, Orgy, Polygamy/Polyamory, Interracial, Black Female, White Male, White Female, Oriental Female, Hispanic Female, Indian Female, Anal Sex, Analingus, Double Penetration, First, Masturbation, Oral Sex, Pegging, BBW, and Slow.
Those codes seem to scream that the type of sexual activity you seem to want to avoid is in the story.
Those codes seem to scream that the type of sexual activity you seem to want to avoid is in the story.
Actually, the questions the OP should have asked in the first place - "Does the MC sleep with women outside the harem, and do the women in the harem sleep with men outside it?" - seem to be asked a lot in this forum, and doesn't seem to be readily discernible from the codes.
The askers deem it to be 'cheating', yet those in open polyamory relationships don't, so authors don't use the 'cheating' tag.

I wouldn't call that "cheating", but then I wouldn't call open polyamory relationships a "harem" either.
The story in question has the 'harem' tag and AmigaClone's answer indicated that harem members had sex outside the harem.
Is there a better way it could be tagged?

The story already bears that tag. I wouldn't necessarily expect that to mean having sex outside a relationship.

True, but polyamory and harem do not mean the same thing, and an open polyamory relationship is not a harem.
If you look at the definition of Harem on the codes FAQ page ( https://storiesonline.net/docs/code_faq.php ):
There is a harem involved in the story. A traditional old fashion harem, is where an old sultan has a collection of women housed in a palace for his own pleasure. Could apply for newer setting stories where a similar situation exists.
To me this necessarily implies a relationship that is one-way exclusive.
An open polyamory relationship is not similar to "an old sultan has a collection of women housed in a palace for his own pleasure."
it as a BDSM story
I guess before you go into that the question should be "Is it a good story, I enjoy or don't enjoy XYZ things". I can tell you the author put a lot of time into the story and hit a lot of topics, some I liked, some I didn't but the overall perception is that is a good story showing a lot of labor of love.
