PCBondsman

REP ๐Ÿšซ

GraySapien posted a message to his blog indicating PCBondsman has passed away.

I exchanged emails with PCBondsman on several occasions, but do not know a get deal about his contributions to the SOL community other than he edited stories for many authors. I will be preparing a Contributor Page describing his contributions to our community for the ReaderInfo website.

I would appreciate input that would be suitable for use in preparing PCBondsman's page. If your input contains information that might be considered private, please forward it to me by Private Message. The details of private information may influence the content of his page but will not be shared with others. Otherwise feel free to provide the information in this thread.

Thank you.

Thanks for the heads-up, REP.

I only knew him through SOL though, and as a volunteer editor, so I don't know that I have much to offer in the way of info about the man behind the name.

I had last 'spoken' to him in February when he did some proof-reading for me on the Heroes Inc. universe stories.

Several months ago when a new editor came on board, the current ones introduced themselves. Here's what pc had to say to the new guy โ€ฆ

"I'm Warren Stewart also known as PC and pcbondsman. I've worked with a number of authors including Wes Boyd, Gray Sapien (AKA Jack Knapp), The Nighthawk (Henri ??), Refusnik, Reluctant Sir, and several others.

I have an undergraduate degree in Economics, and an MBA. Did 20 in the Air Force as an Electronics Maintenance Officer. Retired in '87, got into the real estate business for a year or so, then bail bonds for twenty years or so. Only over seas assignment was to Iceland.

From your background we might have "crossed swords" at some point. I worked the Nellis ranges for several years with a few excursions to Ft. Irwin for joint exercises with the army."

Hope this helps,

Paige

Thank you for the information, it will be helpful especially the quote which I will likely incorporate without mentioning his real name. The ReaderInfo site tries to avoid identifying a contributor's real name, even if it is known to some of the public.

One of the "several others" was Omachuck, https://storiesonline.net/blogentry/53827.
Yes, The Nighthawk's name is Henri.

His obituary. You'd think a site like that would know the difference between pall bearers and "paul" bearers.

It's an exact copy from the original obituary:

A Funeral Home should really know better than to write "Paul bearers". Oh, and I needed a VPN connection to fake being in North America to access that site.

The worst is that Paul Bearer himself died in 2013 (https://www.tmz.com/2013/03/05/paul-bearer-dead-wwe-legend-dies-bill-moody/)
By-the-way, I could access the site from the Netherlands without problem. Maybe because I block everything by default and then only allow the site itself.

IIRC funeral homes accept and publish the obituary written by the deceased's family/friends without proofreading it. PC's obituary was obviously not written by a good editor/proofreader since it also contained additional grammar errors. I am not trying to be critical, since it did a good job of describing his life. Based on personal experience, I know how easy it is to miss a few errors when reviewing what I write.

Such sad news to hear this. pcb edited all my books over the years, starting back in 2007. He is missed.
