Re-post story or just re-upload individual chapters?

wikman.karl 🚫

When I posted my first story (Interface), I didn't know enough about how the site software converted a text-file to tagged text, so parts of the dialogue came out without line breaks. Needless to say, this made the whole text virtually unreadable. I've decided to fix it, but I'd like some input about how to go about it.

What are the merits to re-posting the whole story and what are the merits to re-uploading each individual chapter?

Thanks in advance for your input!

how to best format the text

when I repost a story that's already on the site I post the whole story at once with the commands to identify the individual chapters so they appear as the individual chapters.

If you're talking about resubmitting the story and not having the mods remove the story before you upload a new copy, all of the original posting's statistics are retained. Otherwise you are starting from scratch.

If you're only talking about resubmission I don't know of any pros/cons either way.

Your story consists of 27 files, and the story is Incomplete and Inactive.

If you aren't going to complete the story then what will you gain by fixing just the paragraph spacing. What are you going to tell your readers to get them to reread an incomplete story that hasn't been changed? Personally, if you aren't going to complete the story, just leave it as it is.
