In a scene, MC (female with very long hair and a cute face) is trying to figure out which type of photo of her men would find the sexiest - complete frontal nudity (think Playboy or Hustler) or photos where the the most interesting bits are strategically covered by her hair or flimsy clothing leaving a bit of mystery.
Are there any men on this forum who have an opinion and are willing to share it?

I am what the PC culture would call hetero leaning grey sexual. To me, the sexiest part of a woman is her mind and spirit. Without that, the feminine form is more akin to art work. Something to be appreciated, but not to be lusted after.

Pictures do nothing sexually for me as a result. I'm just as likely to appreciate a picture of a setting sun, or growing rose as I am a picture of a partially or completely nude women.

The right mind and spirit, well that's another story.

Are you only interested in male opinions?

If not, then a couple of thoughts.

First, your MC is thinking 'sexiest' not 'erotic' which tends to assume at least some clothing. You give no indication of the MC's age or body shape, both of which will seriously affect her outlook and choices as to what is 'sexy'. Finally the context, what audience is the photo intended for? We have a lot of clothes for a reason, context matters! What is deemed (by us) as sexy isn't 'one size fits all (occasions)'.

To simplify things, the older your MC is, the more attention she will pay to the subtleties between 'sexy', 'sensual', erotic, etc.

Obviously her long hair is going to be highlighted as a 'feature', how and to what effect cannot be assumed without knowing the answers as defined above.

The beauty, the sexiness and even eroticism is in the eyes of beholder far more than any objective value. I, for example, speaking about porn I use, have quite a fetish for nude female form (even while I position myself as nudism advocate claiming nudity's no big deal), but have no interest in explicit genital shots (or most plain sex action), for that matter. Further, I adore small breasts, and find most artificial "enhancements" ugly, including tattoos. Seeing how much of that is around, I must be weird.

So, her first problem is about guessing tastes of the receiver(s). The second is purpose of communication, context and intended use of the picture(s). Sure, she doesn't have much control over the later, and I advise to consider that (and she may not, but that's whole different discussion).

Without splitting hair between "sexiness" and "eroticism" and with regard to my tastes, implied nudity is better than explicit. If there's any clothing at all I would prefer lose clothing that seems about to fall off or just casually thrown on temporary implying there's nothing under, even to elaborate underwear that mostly doesn't do it for me, but the exact opposite can be true for others.

Attitude is what matters most. And, natural look, comfortable, unmistakable self not a made up artificial artwork, although, depending on how well it's done, that have it's places, especially in circles appreciating cosplay. Also, if it makes her appear younger, it can't go wrong (unless she's still a teenager, and even then only if she overdo it badly).

Long hair is very sexy, and great for playing in a picture. She may, for example, obscure most of the form of her breast, allowing hint of a hard nipple to peek try. Gorgeous hair also naturally lends for half turn back shots (the over-the-shoulder look at the recipient). Such a shot can demonstrate full nudity without revealing anything at all (except the inciting smile and glint in her eyes of course), and I believe would be considered tasty in most contexts.

For me she would be wearing one of my short sleeved white dress shirts holding a mug of coffee in one hand and the other holding a spatula making pancakes. The shirt would be unbuttoned showing only enough to prove than other than a smile that's all she is wearing. (We slept together nude and she couldn't find where we dropped our clothes last night.)

For a professionally prepared garment, I would have her wear a thin sleeveless blouse unbuttoned. The sides of this blouse would be cut high to almost prove the absence of other covering. The same this material would be made into a belt hung to barely cover her sex.
