Please Help, I Must be Doing This Wrong

I seem to be having significant Issues properly posting my stories here. Every time I think I have done it correctly, it turns out Wrong!

I am trying to create a Story: Sixth Generation Cowboy and a Third Generation Whore with two (2) Chapters. Chapter 1: The End of a Generation, and Chapter 2 The Past Affects the Future.

I cannot seem to get rid of my initial post that has formatting errors, thus the subsequent chapters are out of order.

It seems I am uploading my Chapters Correctly, yet the end result always seems to turn out wrong.

How do I delete the first (incorrectly formatted) chapter?

@Marius-6

It's not that I am adverse to helping, but you have to give us more than that. We can spend the next week and a thousand posts guessing what steps you take when you try to load a story, or you can write out the steps so we can follow along and, maybe, suggest alternatives.

For example, are you copy and pasting your chapters? Are you uploading both as a single file using the coding setup by our host? Are you loading them separately? What format are they in (Text? HTML? etc)

The more you give, the more you get.

Thank you Reluctant Sir.

I am using Plain Text and uploading using the First Option.

On the Submissions Shortcuts Page I have multiple entries.

I am concerned that if I try to delete those, I will accidently delete my story.

Is it possible to Delete a Chapter? If so, How?

I a trying to avoid deleting the story, because I have received feedback from readers, and am trying to keep those responses.

I don't think you can delete a chapter. Only the moderators can do that. But you can repost a chapter, so what you repost will replace what's there.

You upload the chapter correction. (There is a button on the posting screen for just that.) You don't bother deleting; they'll do it for you. Comments which go with the story are posted on the STORY, not on the chapter. They all appear at the end of the last chapter posted.

I must log off. I will check back in between Saturday, January 4th an Monday January 6th.

(I don't have reliable internet at my home.)

SB's advice is the way to go in my opinion.

Select Repost Chapter and then specify Chapter 1. Choose your upload option (paste or file) and then upload your new Chapter 1 content. Then do the same for Chapter 2.

Drop Lazeez a line. He will know definitively how to sort it out and may well do it for you if you explain exactly what you want. Since you currently have three chapters and want to end up with two, I suspect you'll require his help anyway.

Gotta agree with AJ. Ask Laz.

Thank you all for the Advice.

I will contact Lazeez.

I thought I had posted a Chapter Correction to replace the chapter. I obviously did something wrong.

While I got the two Corrected Chapters posted, I did Not replace the original post when I did so.

Perhaps it has something to do with the slow internet speed, and I accidently double clicked something.

I am pretty sure it was my error.

I have figured out how to edit the notes.

Uther, for a bit only 1 Chapter was showing, so I was concerned if I deleted it, I would be deleting the complete story. When I checked today, the second and third stories are Posted, not just in the que.

Thanks again for the advice. I will be contacting Lazleez for the advice on how to resolve the situation I created.

I have copied several of the pages with instructions, or advise so that I may review them while off line.

I was able to correct the formatting errors on the two chapters I posted recently, and have been editing and cleaning up my other chapters.

I have also been contacted by a couple of individuals who may be able to edit, or at least review my chapters before I post them.

I am starting to get used to the differences between my MS Word Documents, the Plain Text version, and what those chapters look like when posted on SOL.

Thanks again for the advice.
