Bug, or me underestimating the popularity of BDSM?

RejectReality ๐Ÿšซ

My latest story has only been up for a few minutes, and only has 30 downloads, yet it's showing 225 people have added it to their library.

Am I severely underestimating the popularity of BDSM/Femdom, or is this likely a bug that should be reported to Laz?

Option #3 is that it's possible that a lot of people follow you or that the story happened to appear on the front page at a busy time. I don't know about anyone else, but I often use "add to library" as a sort of waitlist or bookmark -- nit something I want to read right now, but I might check it out in future.

It doesn't hurt to screenshot the behaviour and email Laz, though. The screenshot probably isn't necessary, but doesn't hurt, especially if there's something different happening on the front-end than the back-end.

@Dicrostonyx

I did take a screenshot. I refreshed several times, did a few other things, and then came back to see it was the same, and that's when I took the screenshot.

The reason it struck me is that it's so far outside the norm for library entries, not only in this name, but even for my other pen names where I have long, multi-chapter stories.

Thought I'd check here first to see if authors more familiar with the readership of the genre here could offer some insight.

I'll give it a while, and if others continue to smell something fishy, and it remains ( to me ) unnaturally high, I'll drop a bug report.

ETA: Forgot to check the "by" line before replying. Still RR. Apologies for the confusing pen name change. LOL

Option 3, you're seeing the results of a new feature rollout Lax announced recently.

Okay, just checked the announcements sub-forum. The number of instant library entries is exactly equal to my number of favorite author listings, so that explains that.

The new feature was only implemented two days ago, so obviously none of my story followers have yet chosen to disable the automatic library function.

@RejectReality

Sounds as if adding a story to your library doesn't download the story.

@REP

Sounds as if adding a story to your library doesn't download the story.

That's correct. It's just a way of noting a story for later downloading and reading.
