where is he
I have been working. In the last four weeks I have been on 20 different airplanes, and had a root canal in between. Life has been hectic, I will still be writing but not for a few more weeks. Rick is getting a little impatient but promises me he will hang around and tell me the rest of his story.

I really prefer when authors go on hiatus, rather than either quitting or simply dying. I mean, how rude!
quitting or simply dying.
It would be nice if politicians did these things as often as authors!

I don't think I'd object as much if more politicians were to die without advanced notification, than I do when authors do so. At least with authors, you're always hoping for one more last great work, whereas with politicians, by the time they become nationally or internationally known, you know they're days of accomplishing anything good have passed a long time ago!

But why would you believe them if they did say they were going to die?

If a politician were to give notice that he is going to die, that would be the absolute truth. Granted, the timing of when that event would occur could be a lie, or they could imply one thing that is not the absolute truth ...
In Brazil years ago there was a President-Elect (Tancredo Neves) that took ill the night before his inauguration. The reason he ended up in the hospital at that time was kept from the general public (and some assumed that the reason used was to hide an assassination attempt. This politician died about three months later, and some suspect that his body was kept alive with machines so that his death would coincide with that of a famous martyr of a failed movement for the independence of Brazil.

As long as he doesn't say when. :)
Funny, but so true. I just moving past a slowdown myself.
I had my own, but it was a combination of medication and stress. Now I'm faced with a prolonged inability to sleep. The problem is, when I'm NOT productive, I end up spending MORE time working, rather than less. :(
