Poverty Hill

rustyken ๐Ÿšซ

I have a question about the story. I have a copy of a several stories with the name Poverty Hill' in the title. Same author but dates around 2006. I am wondering how the current posting fits with what I have saved. I didn't find a way to send to author this question off line. So if someone could enlighten me I would appreciate it.

The version here is the same as the last version posted on Gina's defunct site.

Actually, the author took over and he's handling the postings from his own files. So they may have been modified.

I wouldn't worry about it. People write stories with the same name frequently. It would be nice if sory names were different. As far as I know, The content of their stories is what matters. As long as you don plagiarize their stories, you should be okay.

If you can thin, of a different name, that would be even better.

As always, copyright is different than trademark, as trademark rarely is invoked other than for movies and films, where the studios actively work to restrict anyone else diminishing their investment in the name.

Yet as long as the name is a common usage, you're covered. So, for example "The Martian" could be trademarked, as it isn't a common expression, whereas "Lolita" isn't anymore.

But according to AmigaClone, they are the exact same as Ginas, so someone appears to be blatently stealing others works. Whereas Gina's reposted works do seem to have been somewhat revised (fewer incomplete works, as was common for Gina's originals).

No, in this case โ€“ BtFH stories โ€“ Gina did give Lazeez the right to post the stories here.
Read Lazeez answer to AmigaClone's posting, the author decided to post his stories here himself from his own files instead of letting Lazeez post them from Gina's files.

HM.

Sorry, I was under the impression that Gina had perishes when she quit posting her stories. So, are the new stories the same as the old Gina stories, or are they revisions of the older, incomplete works?

I tried a few, but since they seemed no different than the older ones, I quit, not wanting to read the many she never completed. They were still captivating, but not as fascinating rereads, anticipating the exact same frustrations.

Still, nice to see some more older writers are still with us.
