Why did all the blog entries relating to 'the purge' get deleted?
Probably for the same reason the main thread and the yellow banner announcement were deleted. I assume the site admin do not want the subject discussed at this point in time.
That's a shame.
I've scanned my list of black-spotted stories. I think two of them might be salvaged be changing the codes but I was hoping to blog the names of the unsalvageable ones so readers would know which to download, if they didn't already have a copy.

Oh, so the black dots in the Story Stats page ARE the mark for deletion?
Great. I have two stories with that dot, but one of them doesn't feature anyone below eighteen. I had just tagged it with mT because, to me, nineteen-year-olds ARE teenagers :D
You are aware you can change your codes? There was a bug which had prevented this but it was fixed today.
Lazeez cobbled together a quick content scan, so I doubt it's a live update, as it's merely specifying stories which need need to be 'fixed' and reposted. Once you do that, it should be okay.

Correct.
I am, and I did. The dot persists, though.
Before the other thread was hidden, Lazeez mentioned that the dot won't go away automatically just because you took the tags off.

20 out of 45 of my stories have the black dot. One ("Last Kiss") shouldn't have the dot since it's a no sex story. But at least one other should have had the dot because the character is 16.
Will I update the stories?
1. Two of them are for sale on Bookapy so I may try.
2. Most of them wouldn't make sense if I simply upped the ages. It's too bad because one of them is up for a Clitoride. So I guess many of my stories are going away.
3. Some might be salvageable. But will I spend the time updating them? (That's assuming I can even find the source in a format I would update with.) I doubt it. It's too much work for not much gain. And not fun work either.
Again, hold onto the stories, as this latest 'activist' crisis will eventually fade into obscurity, since the 'group' is directly targeting the hosting sites, just as PayPal did years ago. It's effectively an end-run around Freedom of Speech, rather than a direct attack in the courts. As such, the hosting companies 'knuckling under' is hardly a badge of honor, as it's more sheer cowardice.
For now, since the stories aren't yet deleted, grab whatever you can so you can work on them. The black-marks are simply flags the files need adjustments.
It would be nice if management could save an archive for just such a time. Some of the older works by great authors probably violate German sensibilities but are no longer stored elsewhere, so once they're gone from SOL they're gone forever.

A notice to that effect on the front page would have been nice...

The other thread had a lot discussion that was political, rather than about the purge itself, particularly concerning US politics when the reason for the purge is coming from Germany.
As far as I can tell, the entire blog-feature is inaccessible. At least in my stream, no blog-posts show up anymore, even the old ones from before the apocalypse.
I think that happens sometimes when the admin wants to filter things. I had, admittedly, a run of complain blog posts a year ago and since then my blog posts are blocked from showing up on the front page of the site. I assume users are regularly censored to keep the front page feed in line with what the admin wants. (to be clear, which is in his right)
Blog entries don't show up on the front page if they contain offsite links, or if you post more than three in a twenty-four-hour period.
Right now, if you click the 'blog' button as an author, it redirects you to the home page, so you can't even edit your old blog entries. I assume our gracious host will re-enable that when things calm down.
True, but mine don't show up regardless of content or frequency. One new post after not posting a blog for a month with no links doesnt' show and hasn't for a long time for me. Not complaining since it's the admin's discretion for his site, just saying that there has always been some kind of moderation limiting who can post.
I believe if you violate the 'content standards' policy for blogs you need to ask (politely) to have your front page display re-enabled. I would wait until blogs are enabled, then ask via the internal messaging system (link on the hoemepage).
New blog entries cannot be made, either. The button redirects you to the homepage.
I symphonies with Lazeez; he's in a sh-tty place.
To cool down the feeding frenzy. The load on the server and on me were getting to ridiculous levels.
The info is now out. We'll deal with things in a controlled manner.
I am so glad I am anal about some things like downloading stories I like for over 2 decades now. I have about 1500 so far. I also have them saved to a number of drives.
