I see that Dual Writers email is no longer available. Does anyone know if he is still with us?

@Guillermo42

He is not listed as inactive on the Author-Info site.

The rules are stated as (bold by me):

For an author to be considered inactive, all of the following must be true for the past two years:

โ€ข The author has not posted a new story, posted a new chapter to an existing story, and has not updated an existing story or chapter.
โ€ข The author has not made a post to their blog or to the forum.
โ€ข The author has not been in contact with other SOL members or the website's staff.

the first is true
the first part of the second is true. Is there an easy way to check the second part (post to the forums)?
the third isn't easy to check:
not in contact with other SOL members? Only eMail contacts via SOL's internal mail service could be checked by the site management.
not in contact with the website's staff? The remove of his eMail address indicates he probably had contact.

When I am writing a Contributor's Page (CP), I check the site's last contact date. That tells me the last time the author posted a story, chapter, or update. I check their blog, if they have one, to determine if there has been a recent update. One of the last things I do is to do a forum search on the author's penname; that usually returns numerous posts in which the author is mentioned by another poster. Occasionally, I find a post by the author within the last two years. If I don't find something within two years, I prepare the CP and route it to TeNderLoin for editing. Once any edits are incorporated, I route the CP to Keet for posting on the Author Info site.

I read somewhere in the Bug Report / Feature Request forum that email adresses are automatically removed when an Author doesn't log in for a year?

*EDIT*

He is not listed as inactive on the Author-Info site.

He IS marked as inactive in his unfinished story "LA Fun".

The Incomplete and Inactive tag is applied to an incomplete story that has not been updated for more than a year. The author could still be active, indeed I know of several cases where an author has posted new stories while they had one story with that status.

This can be caused by clicking the wrong button in the chapter submit page...

I did that in "Kelly" years ago, clicking the continues, instead of complete.

Took me a long time to figure out how to fix that.

No, I don't remember what I did to fix it.

You can either reupload the last chapter, and click the new button when you edit it, or simply email Laz. There was an issue a few years ago where, when you posted, the buttons weren't on the same side depending upon how you posted, and I clicked the wrong one. He changed the layout on the screen to help with that.

When you're posting a new chapter in an ongoing serial, the buttons you need to click are all to the left until you reach 'to be continued', which is to the right. I often find my mouse hovering over 'story is complete' and I can see myself clicking on it by accident one day.

I thought there was a way to change the status using 'Manage Stories' but I can't find it. That's probably because it's in front of my nose ;-)

I think someone else fell victim today :-(

Lazeez wrote something to that effect in some forum here three years ago.
Sometimes authors return after a long break - Moghal for example - but Moghal's problem was time and not ill-health.
