"Premiere" means " to have a first public performance. : to appear for the first time as a star performer. transitive verb. : to give a first public performance of." As in: the sequel to Top Gun had a great premiere.

I think they meant "premier" which means "first in importance, order, or position; leading."

Yes, that's a ridiculous stretch and mostly just points out that English is flexible enough to allow for a multitude of sins, but...
