I mixed up the chapters I was supposed to post. Accidentally clicked the wrote txt file in the uploader no doubt. Nothing brings in the private messages like:

"You uploaded chapter 18 again."

It hits you right in the warm and fuzzies as you hate yourself for carelessness.

Funny thing is though, I posted the right chapter today, it was last Friday I posted chapter 18 instead chapter 17. And that got 0 notes, so maybe my story doesn't need a chapter 17, and I wasted everyone's time!

Thank god I didn't get double careless and take the messages at their word, replace chapter 18, and make an all clear declaration! (Which I did, and then had the sense to doublecheck, but blog posts can be deleted!)

Besides the small existential crises, I feel really thankful for the number of people who reached out when they noticed a mistake. Good community here and I appreciate Lazeez for giving me access to them.

I've posted the wrong chapter, though not quite that way (maybe once, though? vague memories).

My posting process is to export from Scrivener (where I write) into Word, copy the chapter contents into Word files which are themselves copies of the previous chapters (makes it easier to preserve the file name, formatting, etc), and post (editing chapter numbers, because Scrivener exports the wrong numbers unless you export the whole book).

Then the file syncs from the computer I write on to the computer I post on.

A few weeks ago I failed to wait long enough for the sync, and posted the old contents (so, ten chapters back).

So many emails.

So. Many. Emails.

Much better than not getting any! So much better!
