AJ
Nope
I believe if you insert a hyperlink in the blog post, it will not appear in the stream. I may be misremembering.

That's what I remember too, but that would also exclude it from my follower's streams.

Also, there is no way to restrict a blog entry to followers and keep it away from the site's home page.
I disabled hiding blog entries from the main page if they contained a link.
When hiding was enabled, it only hid it from the main page and showed it to private streams.

That would have been close enough. I'm looking for a way to divulge personal information primarily to my followers while keeping it from all and sundry. I'd be grateful if you could add it to your wish list if it's not already there.
Thanks, AJ
Once information is in the public domain (i.e., your followers) the information is often spread to others whom you do not want to have it.
I'm not too worried about that - if readers are that interested I don't mind. What I don't want is the info to be on the SOL home page.
AJ
You seem to have differing positions. You don't object to readers reading your personal information, but don't want it on the home page were it can be read by readers. ?
I want my blog or whatever to be read by those who have made some sort of investment in my work, either by following me or by going to my author's page. I don't think the contents would be relevant to other site visitors and, since I might be sharing personal information, possibly open to misuse.
AJ
since I might be sharing personal information, possibly open to misuse.
Sharing personal information with people you don't know is almost a guarantee that it will be both made public and misused. Simply stating it is personal and open to misuse almost guarantees it.
Sometimes people need to hear what has been previously stated in different words.
Unfortunately, there will always be those who insist on existing in a dream world where the people they confide in won't misuse private information.

Many people seem to exist in a dream world where "posting information publicly on the Internet" constitutes "confiding in people".

IF Laz was to contemplate such an option, would it not be better to add an option to the DM allowing a 'group' message composed of all followers.?
Misuse should be minor since it would only send to those who choose to 'follow' the sender.
2c expended.

joy, that is actually a cogent and on topic suggestion.
Color me impressed...Not that that is all that difficult. My facilities are failing.
Only if I can use body paint :)
Would henna work? I don't mind semi-permanent as long as it doesn't clash with the rest of my art.

In most cases you'd be right and that would meet my requirements.
