If I understood what you are asking for, it is outside the site's control. Was your entire list of accessed stories not deleted at the end of June?

What I'm asking about is a site generated list. I have a Premier Account so I don't know if the list is done for the other accounts. However, if you have a Premier Account and you go to the Home page in the top left corner just under all of the main links is a box with the number of stories available and below that is a link with my account name followed by the number of stories visited to day followed by the number I'm allowed each day - at the moment it reads Ernest Bywater 0/100. If I click on that link it opens a page to show the titles of the stories I've read today, and that page has a link that says History. When I click on that link it shows a long list of stories visited at 100 stories per page. My list currently has over 1,100 stories listed in it. Many of them are ones I looked at while trying to help others, and some are also old favourites I've re-read. I'd like to be able to remove those stories from the list so I can limit it to just the stories I've read by aren't already a favourite etc.

This list I'm talking about is not the browser history list.

Well.. I learned something new today. I never clicked that link so had no idea!

And it also records those you download, not just the ones you read online, which is fantastic.

1 - I'll see about adding that functionality. You can achieve the same effect by clicking the grey dot next to the story's entry in any listings.

Just having that dot beside the actual list would be good. I just tested the author list option, and it works, but it required me to go and find the other list to do it. That means more download to do it that way. Sure, it isn't much, but living in a country where most of us have to pay for every damn KB means it soon adds up.

I implemented the feature. It was simple enough. Check it out.

I just tried it out, and while the individual page lists appear to change a check of the whole list shows the ones I marked to change the setting on are simply moved to the bottom of the list. Maybe it needs to wait for the various databases to update before they actually disappear. I started with over 1,100 stories on the list, and still have over 1,100 stories despite marking about 400 for removal. Got to go out for a few hours so I'll review the situation later tonight after I get back.

I've fixed the bug and now you won't see them.

Never seen that action on that list before, because I thought they were just links that took you to the story. That works and solves the second part of the request.

However, that's becoming useless as more people switch to touch devices which don't make use of the 'title' property for links. I'll need to update it to work on touch devices, I'll probably do it along with the removal check box.

Don't forget, many of those 'newer' touch devices also offer pressure sensitive options, meaning you can do the same with by pressing and holding, rather than by just clicking a given link. Granted, it won't help with archaic, obsolete system (cough, cough, Windows Surface, cough, cough), but it would help the vast majority of your users using the newest tablets.

CW, check if you have something stopping any scripts from running, as that may eb causing your issue.

I did have AdBlock+ installed, but after disabling it for the site, the functionality still isn't there. Hovering doesn't seem to affect anything on the site, despite working on every other site I visit regularly. I'll try in on my Apple products and see if they respond any differently. Maybe it's just the ancient PC OS?

You need to pause over the link for a second for the box to appear. But also, it depends on the browser. Maybe your browser doesn't do it.

I'm using FireFox on a Windows 7 PC. I used to use the 64-bit WaterFox instead, but gave it up when FF finally went 64-bit itself (which allows me to open a gazillion windows). WF didn't always keep up with the latest FF revisions.
