Hi, I'm not sure if this is bug or intended change (at least I didn't see any announcements), but most of really old stories, like 1999 or so, are all "premier only" now.
If this bug, it would be good to fix it. If it is intended, please say so.

It's intentional - all stories by an author who hasn't logged in to the site in five years have been moved to premier-only.
ETA: It was quite well announced and there were some 'spirited' discussions here; it particularly affected the 1999 stories because they were largely just dumped here upon site creation and abandoned by the authors. Lazeez does give warning of stories that are about to be hit by this rule: on the home page, towards the bottom of the LH navigation pane (just above the 'Links' box) is a link 'Up for Archival' which lists the stories for one week before they are archived to premier-only. Another notification of archived authors I've just seen is that the background on the author list pages is set to a chequered pattern rather than solid grey or white.

As I recall, if an author returns after the fact they can have their stories moved back. I don't think it is automatic but I may be mistaken. With Al Steiner's return, I guess we will get to see firsthand.
Once again - Welcome Back Al Steiner!

If the stories were flagged 'Premier Only' earlier, they aren't now.

The warning 'to be archived' list is only a month long. So after a month, it's too late to save anything (and if you aren't already a premium member, you can't actually 'save it', instead you've got to read it a chapter at a time in order to cut & paste it into a new document).

We were referring to 'archived to premium status' stories for MIA authors. Since Al fit into that category, we were discussing at his story statuses.

The archiving sequence kicks in when the author stops logging in for 5 years. It doesn't kick in if they simply stop posting for 5 years.
While Al Steiner had stopped posting a long time ago, he regularly logged into the site.
Did you direct your post to the wrong person.
My post was saying 'Premier Member Only' did not appear under the titles of the stories listed on Al Steiner's Stories page.

I agree. It is a very pleasant surprise, for sure. And it appears he really hasn't lost anything in the layoff. That first chapter is good.
Thanks. Just found this discussion. But I think title like "Authors' agreement updated" is not really descriptive of its contents...

Most titles aren't. It does let you know there has been a change you should probably look at if you are an author. Kinda like when some software or website updates their ToS.
