Excluding No-Sex stories button

I would like to suggest this feature: excluding No-Sex Stories. Make a button that will hide stories of this category from showing on any page of this site. Like, when we check top short classic, we click on this button and it hide all stories on that page of this category.

Point 1: A story read on this site without sex scenes is just a normal story. We dont volunteer to read normal story. To be more precise, you would need to pay me to read your non-porn stories, amateur or professionals. This is because this is a very taxing activity. I dont even wish to see a Storiesonline.net story of this No Sex category~

Point 2: this thing, showing no sex stories, is pointless and annoying to extreme. Pointless because when we dont want to read such thing, we dont read it even if you show years in, years out. Hell, to this time it's decade in, decade out. Annoying because it's going againts the root of this site. We started out as a porn stories site. I dont find that shameful. I do mind that in order to whitewashing this past people shoving no-sex stories to my face.

So how about it? Anyone share this need?

Really? I suggest you limit yourself to XHamster or similar. (Yes, they have stories too.) When you start paying for SOL you can politely ask for new features like your button.

Ever heard of evolution? SOL has grown both in size and quality over the years and you want it to go back to the Middle Ages? I consider many of the No/Minimal sex stories of better quality than I can buy in a bookstore. And because of SOL I can sample many books before I consider supporting the author by buying on Bookapy.

So how about it? Anyone share this need?

No, and you should start paying for SOL so you get the better filter options where you can filter out everything you consider crap. As a freeloader you are not entitled to make demands.

On topic, I took it as a request, not a demand, and not a great idea in any event. I doubt it will happen.

I'm sorry that you interpret it that way. My remark was entirely meant for the OP only, considering his disparaging comments on SOL and making demands in the same post. There was no intention at all to insult other free members.

It's like broadcast TV used to be — don't like a channel, skip it when changing channels. Heck, even with filters, streaming sites offer to show me stuff I'd never watch. I simply scroll past them.

Or like the grocery store displaying products I'd never buy. I simply walk past them.

Your life must be hell having to see things that do not interest you. But it's a self-made hell, and you put yourself there. You can get out of your self-made hell easily enough. But that's on you.

When did you start reading here?

Storiesonline is 25 years old. It's not 'SexStoriesOnline' it's storiesonline...

The first story labelled 'no-sex' was posted in 1999, right from the start almost.

I'm all for this idea. If someone is that narrow focused to not want any no-sex stories, then I as a writer of no sex stories don't want them reading my work. What's the best that can happen if they accidentally do? They find enlightenment? doubtful. More likely is they would 1 bomb the vote.

I don't care for the "Much sex" and "Stroke story" myself so I just skip over them.

If he was requesting a way to exclude gay stories, no one would be shouting. He has a preference so he has a valid request.

I actually think it's a good idea.

AFAIK, certain pages on SOL have no filtering, including the home page and the top lists in the left menu.

To start adding filters now would probably represent an enormous amount of work for management for very little benefit.

If you look at the category exclusions in your profile, the home page and top lists are about the only things not covered.

Adding the sex content tags to the category exclusions may not be as much work as you think.

I don't understand why this is a good idea. What's next? Do we need dedicated buttons to exclude each level of sexual content in a story.

If the OP doesn't want to read 'No Sex' stories then that is fine with me. All he has to do is not open a story coded 'No Sex'. Of course, that also means he has to take the time to check the sex level code assigned to the story.

Personally, I believe a good story is worth reading regardless of the amount of sex in the story. I can't recall any story coded 'Stroke Story' that had a decent plot that was developed and character development. Every 'Stroke Story' I've tried to read was essentially an 'Insert Tab A into Slot A and then repeat for Slots B, C, D, E, etc.' story that started out with a plausible plot that was abandoned as soon as the sex scenes started. I do not agree with adding such a button for I am not too lazy to read the Sex Level code and decide if I want to read the story; but if any button is added, I would vote to have it block 'Stroke Stories'.

But that feature already exists in SOL. In the exclusions.

I don't exclude anything. I want to be in full control. If I have a squick, I don't exclude it. I want to be offered the story and decide if I want to read it even though it has my squick.

But everyone else, it seems, are so abhorred by their squicks that they don't even want to see those stories. That's how he feels about no-sex stories on SOL. Why is it any different for him than for anyone else?

Your point about stroke stories is valid. I actually liked the old definition of it — no plot. So if this feature is implemented, people could choose never to see stroke stories if that option was included with the no-sex one.

I still don't understand needing a tag for "smoking" unless it's about Bill Clinton and where he likes to keep his cigars. I have never read a story where smoking was much about the story.

I'm not sure why you feel that you're so special that you need someone to program an option just for you, that no one else needs or wants.

Unless by "special", you mean riding the short bus kind of special.

Most of us know how to stop reading when we don't like something. Try it sometime, even the mentally challenged can turn a page.
