Fairly young (mid twenties to early thirties) widower with one or more young children hires a babysitter on a regular basis.
His child(ren) are somewhere between four and ten - although they were all born after he was about twenty (only one four year old child if he was about twenty-five, to three children between the ages of four and ten if he is over thirty.)
He has a teenage neighbor girl as a babysitter, and part of her payment is some tutoring. That starts a relationship between them.
At one point he comes to realize his feelings for her and calls her and asks if she knows someone who would be willing to babysit his kids a certain evening that is not one of their regular times.
She gets upset about that says no, tells him he can find someone else to "babysit his brats" and hangs up.
He tries for a while to talk to her but is always shut down. Finally he convinces her parents and gets them to agree to a meeting between the two where he explains he forgot to ask one question before asking for help with getting another babysitter - would she go out with him?
