I really enjoyed the Smith and most of his other stories. Such amazing characters and arcs that I would love to read more about. Does anyone know if he's still around and writing though?

I sent him a message a month ago with no response. I wish him well as he is a rare talent.
Shaddoth has posted an update to his blog (Mar 14, 2023) and said, among other things, that he is slowly working on Axe2, a little < 50k words, but no timeline for completion; but he did reference an ice age :-) .

I reread Axeman for the second time when I noticed the timeline was off. So I went back and looked in more detail and was surprised at how wrong it was. Dates do not match up. MC mentioned going into his green gate six times but said he only went five.
I really liked this story and I did not notice the extra days my first read through. So maybe it isn't a big deal.
