Hi Authors! I'm looking to edit Mind Control, Incest or Bestiality content

karlkarlson ๐Ÿšซ

I know these categories don't get a lot of attention and they're favorites of mine. Send me a message if you're interested.

Are you crazy?

Incest is possibly one of the most common kinks in SOL stories. Mind control has dropped off some, but was also dominant at one time in the list of stories available.
Bestiality (outside the penchant for sadonecrobestiality which crops up in the forum) is, however, as you say less popular.

It depends, if he's looking for all three in one story, that would be pretty rare.

Probably not. A lot of mind control stories have the boy gain the power and experiment on his mom or sister or both. An author into bestiality would surely add their family pet or farm animal.

I would be interested in that kind of story. I've looked, it's a relatively small set, at least on SOL.

Especially when you start weeding out the tag soup stories that don't even make an effort to work in all the tags they put on the story.

mind-control + incest + bestiality = 37 stories.

Now if someone has the tags mother or sister without the incest tag, those incest stories don't show up. I don't know how many authors do that.

Also a small set.

mind-control + incest = 550
and mind-control = 2,173
so 25% of the mind control stories have incest.

incest + mother + son = 2806

subtract 2nd from 1st = 166

to verify, -incest, +mother, +son = 166

That's not a fair comparison, as "mother" is more often tied to pregnancy or underaged stories, while mother + daughter is a separate kink, unrelated to incest.

That depends on whether the story is 'kink' based (sexual fetish) or plot based. Again, the majority of SOL categories are focused on particular sexual fetishes (ex: BBG, Asian, preg, etc.).

Nope.

I browsed the description for some stories that had mother and son tags but not incest. It had nothing to do with sexual fetish or plot based. The author simply didn't include the "incest" tag.

At least from the descriptons. I didn't read the stories.

That makes sense, as readers are more interested in the incest angle than they are in the rather pedestrian mother/daughter story, which often isn't even tagged (at least from those I recall offhand).

One of my oldest and now lost stories might have qualified as that.

Basically a "family orgy", in which none of the members have sex with each other. Sister with boyfriend, brother with wife, wife even with sister, and mom and dad doing each other and the others who are not their kids.

Closest was "in-law", and I pretty much wrote it as a giant teaser, as most would have just assumed that there would eventually be "real incest", but there was none.

But yes, if say a part of the story is the son watching the mother have sex, then that could be seen as qualifying yet not have incest.

Or, it could be a story of a group of individuals living in a hive each fooling around with each other. They may never have met, but since they all have the same mother--the Queen--it's all incest, you just switch a couple of the letters!

That's true, as few of us have a dog or horse for a brother/sister/mother. ;)

But rarer still are necrophilia or watersport stories, which typically score very low (i.e. even lower than your standard gay porn).

Hmm. ISTR one story, from back in the USENET era: torture, snuff, necro, cannibalism.(might've been pedo too)
Disturbing, but not the worst thing I ever read... probably would be the most offensive to a number, though.

@Grey Wolf

Ah. I wasn't aware people volunteered for editing specific types of content, other than eliminating squicks... and given the prevalence of incest and MC stories I wouldn't expect huge numbers of editors to be excluding them. Bestiality...maybe.
Honestly, I think it's best to edit stories that (while not being outright squick territory) don't match the editor's kinks - I suspect being too 'into' the story hurts objectivity.

Grey Wolf ๐Ÿšซ

@bk69

About 1/10 of the volunteer editors list incest as a preference. Several exclude it. It's probably not that hard to find an editor, but I did take it as an offer to volunteer for that kind of story.

I agree; saying there aren't many incest or mind-control stories makes little sense. But that's why I went with it being related to the supply of editors.

Perhaps many people posting incest, mind-control, or bestiality don't bother with editors? There are obvious exceptions, of course, but there are exceptions to almost every rule.

More often, they'll lack beta-readers (i.e. family members) as they'll be afraid to reveal where their head is, but my (currently) 90-year-old mother has read every single one of my stories, regardless of content, while by brother (only 2.5 year age difference) gave up after the first several (though he continues collecting signed copies).

Crumbly Writer ๐Ÿšซ

@bk69

As I noted, I have no problems getting editors for incest stories, but when I tackle a touchy subject, like homelessness, drug addition and/or mental illness, the editors tend to drop like flies.

But my newest stories is incest, paranormal, ghost, so I can't imagine there are a lot of those either. (There's even a ghost dog for a couple of chapters.)

I don't know, given the popularity of Incest stories and pre-teen sex stories on SOL. The main character might be utterly revolting, but the traditional theme of charming father figure sinking into utter depravity has been a mainstay of fiction for a long time!

Oh, and it goes on even beyond that.

For many, I think there is an attraction in the revolting. Just look no farther than many of the books that have been popular with women over the decades. VC Andrews, Anne Rice (especially her Sleeping Beauty series), 50 Shades of Stockholm Syndrome, and the series about a 100+ year old sparkling man who hits on an underage teen girl.

Myself, for years I have just shaken my head at them. I can see why some write about such things, but the obsession that I see now is what I find bothersome. I almost never read stories in here anymore, because I look through the first 20 stories in my feed and see 16 of them all have the same tags and just shrug and stop looking.

Yet another where the MC does his mom, and another one where he does his mom. Oh, here he does his sister instead, and in the next his mom and his sister. There was one I got a kick out of, and then after about 20 stories the author went into the incest rabbithole and I stopped reading after that.

Fairly common decades ago.

I know of at least 2 cases in the 1980's where an unmarried mother had her parents "informally adopt" their child, and it was raised as their sibling. Both cases had the daughter thinking their mother was their sister for many years until they learned otherwise.

I had dated one of the mothers in this case in High School, and introduced to her "Sister" years later, then again years after that as her daughter.

And in the other, it was the woman I would later marry. Until that point her daughter was being raised as her sister.

Bobby Darin, the singer, was one of the more famous cases of a child being passed off as the mother's when a daughter had a baby. Finding out that his sister was his mother was devastating for him.

50 Shades of Stockholm Syndrome, and the series about a 100+ year old

In fairness, I believe 50 Shades started out as fanfic of the second, so...

Honestly, I don't object so much to the kink fascination of a lot of the stories so much as the kink-centric shortcuts. I've noticed what seems to be a number of kink-specific 'hot buttons' that authors shamelessly hammer on, rather than building a coherent and/or compelling story: characters in incest stories mentioning the word 'taboo' during sex scenes or going on about how the sex is better because of the forbidden nature and such crap... characters in 'swinger' stories pontificating about how they're superior people to those who'd prefer not sharing their partner(s) with others... that sort of thing. There were more I recall identifying, I think for interracial and BDSM and such, but you get the idea. That's the sign of kinklit written for and by someone obsessed with that kink and not meant for general consumption.

It was my impression that the original poster was more saying that few editors volunteer to edit MC, incest, or bestiality content rather than saying there isn't much written. That could certainly be true.

I've written a BUNCH of 'pseudo-incest' stories (i.e. people who aren't really related), and I've never had much trouble finding editors. A bigger limitation is the story premise and the quality of writing, as editors typically like to focus not the types of stories that they prefer, and usually that doesn't include tripe!

Switch Blayde ๐Ÿšซ

I don't typically read bestiality stories, but I was playing with Category Search with the tags the OP listed (trying different combinations) and came upon a story with incest and bestiality, but not mind control. It's by rache (anyone who knew her knows that's spelled with a lower case "r") so I thought I'd try it.

The story is "Lick 'N Tiff" and it's hysterical. Typical rache.

I'm on a chapter which seems to be from the dog's POV (just started it). At least it's the girl telling us what the dog told her. The girl believes she can talk to the dog (not that the dog can actually speak). For example, the sentence:

"You shoulda been born a dog, Tiff," he'll say and I just growl at him.

The dog told her that and she growled at him. Gotta love it.
