A flash of electric blue and a male Common Blue Butterfly landed on a stalk about 18 inches away with its wings tightly folded.

The upper wings stayed motionless, but the lower wings seemed to be rubbing against each other, one moving up while the other moved down and vice versa. After about half a minute, the lower wings paused and the stalk shivered. The motion resumed for another half a minute then paused and the stalk shivered again. Then it started again.
