All I could think of doing was sending him a message asking if he was ok and I did that last week.
When Jay Cantrell suddenly stopped posting A Flawed Diamond a few years ago, it turned out that someone had driven into him from behind while he was walking home. Someone else was turning left and this idiot went onto the footpath rather than wait, without noting that a JC was already there.
So far I have zero interaction with Lazlo, though I've messaged him through the site messenger, up to and including putting my personal e-mail addy into the message body... So, I'm stuck hoping that someone else will have info or that he will notice the blog or this and reply there.
Laz is fairly nonresponsive to emails and such. I've been here a number of years and have had if memory serves exactly one email exchange with him. He's somewhat of a mystery person.
It used to be a game here to try to figure out what his real-life job was Did he work for No Such Agency or some other government Alphabet soup agency because of the lack of details he shares about his life.
He does disappear from time to time sometimes for kind of long periods of time which leads to speculation was he TDY or out fishing? It's all part of the fun.
Hopefully, he's in fine health and once he's cleaned his sniper rifle and been debriefed he'll post another chapter of Emend. I want some more Cathy Damnit and Benny's pretty cool too.

Lazlo often spends a lot of time away from home on contract work. usually he's out of contact while he's away from home as he concentrates on doing the job as quickly as possible. I think there are times he doesn't bother with older emails when he returns from a long contract due to how many pile up while he's away.
edit to add: I've good reason to believe the delay is due to Lazlo being away from home for work on a heavy schedule and the edits of the chapters are piling up. I believe the story has been finished and the first draft is with his editorial team.
If they represented foggy bottom, no such agency, or other alphabet; they would not leave an open hole profile for people to speculate about.
I've known a couple of spooks here and there. It seems so counterintuitive but they would. Think about it this is a great fishing hole we have here. What a great juicy worm to get folks talking. Let the paranoia begin bwahaha

I've been long aware of that. I've several versions of metallic foils in my shop for various projects (gold, silver, copper, lead, mu-metal, tin, aluminium etc).

What is electrosmog? Also, a restaurant hereabouts lined the walls and ceiling with aluminum foil (hoping to keep customers from using cell phones); they reported it worked. Some said the aluminum foil created a Faraday Cage and would protect from EMP or CME.

You would presume incorrectly.
The Electromagnetic Radiation crew are referring to the electromagnetic field caused by running electricity through wires. There biggest bugaboo is high voltage transmission lines and an 'increase in cancer rates' for those folks who live near them. Also carrying your cell phone may put an electromagnetic hot spot upon your body.
More extreme folks recommend removing most if not all electrical wiring from your bedroom to reduce the amount of electromagnetic radiation you are exposed to while sleeping.

So it's not the WiFi but the computers, but the electromagnetic radiation caused by electrons going through the wires is small potatoes compared to your WiFi.

It can work, but it's not as efficient as other means. I think it could get you 4db or so reduction in EMF, but not much more.
The last I heard Lazlo was heading into a heavy work schedule, that was about 2 or 3 weeks back so he might be still involved with his work.

Electrosmog is a non-standard term that gets used to cover several effects. All of which cover one form of emission or another of electromagnetic frequency energies. Wifi, Cell, power sources, etc, all are tossed under that particular bus.
Electromagnetic interference (EMI) is a more correct term, or alternatively Radio frequency interference (RFI).

Deci-Bel or dB is the usual measurement in regards to noise/interference levels.
Power level indicators are usually in other terms such as volts and watts.
That should be enough to get the people with an interest doing their own research. Some of my background involves designing and building shield rooms for MRI equipment, electronics enclosures for weld shops, and other similar operations.
While I'm not an electrical engineer, I am a materials and mechanical engineer. I can sing more than a few bars of electrical engineering and along with my wife who is an electrical engineer and electronics engineer, we built a nice side business doing that.
If a potential client uses the term 'electrosmog', we add 10% to our bids. The 10% is pain in the ass compensation for the expected level of ignorance we will have to deal with. Over half of the bids we lose because of that ends up coming back to us to make it right.
On all subjects, people can save themselves a lot of aggravation

I'm agnostic on this one. Researchers have been unable to prove its existence in controlled tests, but I consider recent studies showing changes to children's brains following prolonged mobile phone usage to be disturbing.

A floating ground works for that as well. Aircraft fly without dragging a cable to the earth, yet they have power. Cars do not drag behind Grounding cables for the same reasons.

Again, using an jet passenger plane, all commercial aircraft are on average struck once a year by lightening. No sane person would risk flying commercial, and likely flying period, with those odds if a lightening bolt would bring it down.

There are some failsafe facilities on the ground that use the same principle. While being earth grounded can work, sometimes the field of current/telluric current saturation are too strong utilize an earth ground.

Yeah, that seems to fit. The problem is a single acronym like that has too many possibilities. It is hard to decide what fits if you don't see the trend the person is taking.

Actually, there are a great many uses for this technology. Most do not realize that the military was at one time a major purchaser of this technology, and incorporated it into almost everything for decades.
And this was for 3 reasons. The first, was to protect from EMP. The last thing they wanted was for a near nuclear burst to knock out all of their equipment. And the second, was to prevent electronic eavesdropping on their equipment.
Over 30 years ago, I remember when the first TEMPEST (Telecommunications Electronics Materials Protected from Emanating Spurious Transmissions) computers started appearing in office spaces. And boy were those things beasts! The monitor alone must have been around 70 pounds, and the keyboard over 5. Super thick steel cases over everything, and every wire that went outside was super thick and was wound around several magnets to dampen signals. Even the "laptop" must have weighed 40 pounds.
And that continued to everything else. When I first started working on the PATRIOT missile system, I realized something odd. The doors to the electronics bays had these 2 bends on both the door and enclosure, and sealing it was a gasket but it was made of a metal mesh. And it sure did nothing to keep water our, as if we opened them after a heavy rain there was frequently water inside.
I finally got curious and asked the maintenance Chief what it was for. Because one of the things I had noticed in the PM manual is that if the metal gasket was broken or missing the equipment was to be marked as "unserviceable". I made a guess and asked him it it was to make it a Faraday Cage, and he told me it was. He later even showed me the device he had to use to check one after a gasket was replaced. A transmitter he would close behind the door, then a monitor he would wave around it to make sure no signals leaked with the door closed.
Grounding is not needed, but it is preferred when possible. It also depends on what you are trying to keep in or out. For EMP, you want grounded. For EM signals (like inside your microwave), it is not really required.
It is amazing how most people never really wonder why they can watch their food cook inside of one, and not get cooked themselves. But they are not grounded, as of the risk that would entail.

In the early 1990's I worked at a company where the owner's wife had a woman come in with some kind of meter which she took readings with, she then scattered pieces of wire about the thickness of coat hanger wire that were bent in the shape of the Greek letter omega.
Charged $10,000 for that, a rather profitable day's work.
I remember the early nineties scares. Many of the folks preyed upon, still insist they are being harmed by it as a result. Never mind the fact they are alive and kicking a quarter century later. They just know it's been harming them.
Those same folks will spend days watching youtube conspiracy videos on the subject, all the while complaining their wifi and cell signals are harming them.

As of a month ago he was having some very time consuming real life events, but still around and on some boards when he could fit in the odd minute or so.

Lazlo was in contact with TeNderLoin for a period of time. Since that time, Lazlo stopped responding to TeNderLoin's emails.
Lazlo informed me that he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer back in November 2018.
The median for survival rate for such a diagnosis is 8 months.
Hope he's one of the lucky ones.

I fear the worst since TeNderLoin hasn't heard from him since shortly after that.
As anja pointed out at the end of April 2019, the last chapter of Emend by Eclipse posted by the author himself was on 20 Jan 2019.
I have not seen or heard of any interaction with him since, although hospitals often block SOL.
Giving TeNderLoin his password was a statement in itself.
