One of my editors had to resign for health reasons. I'm going to post a blog seeking a replacement. What else could/should I be doing?
Thanks,
Paige

Options the systems provides are:
1. Posting a request on the Authors/Reviewers Hangout
2. Posting an Editing Request here
3. Searching through the Volunteer Editor profiles here
None of them seem very effective, but there's nothing else the system could do given the mismatch in supply and demand for editors' services.
When you read a story you like that in a similar vein to yours see if they list any editors, if they do go to the editor page, look for the editor, and then send them a message to ask if they'll help you. That way you find someone who you know does well and likes your type of story.

This isn't directed at you, Ernest, but for the rest of you, don't be afraid to contact the author you like and ask them who their authors are. Most will ask their editors first, but it's a more direct method of contacting specific editors rather than 'post a help wanted and hope someone reads it eventually' approach. What's more, for editors who agree, he can either provide their email addresses directly, or he'll have them get in contact with you.
Finding an editor is like a job interview. You are both feeling each other out to see if the other will be good to work with.
Before asking for help, prepare a list of things you want from the editor. Just grammatical edits, suggestions for improving the story, proof reading, etc.
Good luck.
Thanks for the advice, boys.
Being so busy, and, sort of, lazy, I turned the search over to the current editors. I had so many responses to my blog that I passed along those volunteers for vetting.
One new editor in place; others under consideration.
When does it get easier?

When "Winter's Olstice" is complete and edited, and you start posting it, vodka in hand, ready to bask in the acclaim ;)
AJ
ready to bask in the acclaim ;)
The trouble with basking in acclaim is you either get burnt or frozen, it never comes at a moderate temperature.

When you decide to stop writing, which I hope is not anytime soon!
I had two different editors who did not respond to queries. Ernest and several other gave me candidates that they vetted. I now have two new editors.
I have to agree, contact your favorite authors and ask for their recommendations.
