I recommend that you talk to Crumbly Writer. He seems to know when to submit a story (or chapter) to have it POSTED at a certain time and date. He has posted many times in these forums about trying to figure out the posting schedule and how it affects when the chapter (or story) will show up on the main page of SOL.
The reason why I'm pedantic about posting times, is because I like making last-minute changes to stories (doing a final review of each chapter just before I post it). I always seem to find several things to 'clean up' doing that, despite how many times I've reviewed it previously.
Like robberhands, I like my stories to appear first thing in the morning, so my stories appear at a set time each day it posts. I've found, if I submit after breakfast, the story typically won't appear until 4 in the afternoon, at the earliest. Though if I stay up until 12:30a.m. (EST), it'll post very near to 8am. (Thus SOL's on Easter Standard Time, although it appears as if Lazeez and his minions never sleep, as they log in 15-and-a-half hour days.)
However, I've also found a problem with the next-day scheduled posts. We've never found the problem, but typically, if I submit a story and schedule it to post the next day, it not only goes to the end of the submission queue the next morning, but frequently, it won't post for up to 12 - 14 hours! For those of us who like to check whether our foreign language uses display correctly, that's a LONG time to check to see if the story is available.
Luckily, I've largely given up on those last-minute updates (I end up with too many typos that my editors can't review), but I still don't trust the scheduled deliveries. I've been burned by it too many times.
