How can you post a small drawing or illustration to your story? Is it even possible to do on this site?

yes you can - here's the official answer.

the FAQ / Help is a good place to look for these answers.

I submit the stories as HTML now, and simply use the basic html code, include a note in the Moderator's notes of the submission, and have the image as a separate file. The html code shows them where it goes.

It's not only possible, it's fairly easy to do.

When I do it, I use my book's cover as a separate chapter, with a note to the Admins warning them what I'm doing, but I suspect you're trying to embed it in the chapter itself.

In that case, I'd still submit it as a separate file (2 files instead of simply the one chapter) but I'd leave a note to the Admins (whoever it happens to be that day) to insert the image into the text as the designated point (usually the top of the chapter).

If I'm mistaken in the approach, anyone who's done it please, feel free to correct my advice.

The other option is to simply include a link to the location, which you usually offer in a blog post, thought that's not the recommended procedure for including it within the story itself.

I do both, and do it the same way using basic html code for an image. I put a note for the moderator, include each image as a separate file, and they check the image, adjust it's size if need be, and alter the html code to call the image from their server location. Check my Story No names - No pack Drill to see hot they come out in the middle of a story - - that has a lot of images.

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind. For my latest book (three books in the future), I decided (for some unknown reason) to break it into sections, with each section having a graphic image associated with it.

I wasn't planning to include them in the Amazon version—until I saw the Amazon preview of it on a standard phone. It makes for incredibly large files, but it looks damn good!

Helping people with these issues is why i spent the time and effort in writing the WLPC Format Guide, and why Lazeez has it on the Authors page
