Yippee for me!

TheDarkKnight ๐Ÿšซ

I'm going to take a moment to toot my own horn. I've been stretching a lot, so I think I can do it. My goal for awhile now is to hit 500k downloads before I die (or my brain turns to mush). Not there yet, but I hit 450k today.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

What was the line from Pretty Woman? "Everybody gotta have a dream." We all need something to shoot for! Congratulations and good luck.

Not tooting my own horn, I'm currently at 875,000, from a total posted count of 10,000KBs of text. Which isn't that much higher than yours, considering how much I've written over the decades (roughly since 2008, not counting those I 'unpublished' as they no longer reflect my current style of writing).

500k downloads is a high achievement all on it's own. I just tend to be fairly obsessive about everything I do.

That's why I like hanging out in these Forums. It makes me feel like I'm playing with the big kids.

We've all had to start from scratch, so if we can make that transition for other authors, it's to everyone's benefit, as there's no need to let others fail just to make ourselves feel better. Thus it's better ensuring other write the best story they can so we can all appreciate reading their stories.

I wasn't going to list my number, but you seem interested. Currently at 1,012,843 downloads, not that I consider myself one of the "big kids" here.

Currently at 8,449,296 downloads.

A Well-Lived Life - Book 1 - Birgit has 456,051 downloads all on its own.

For questions like this, comparative numbers are relevant, as it gives authors a better feel for what numbers are most reasonable.

In that case, important stats were omitted. For example, in my case, there are only 45 stories. And many of them are short stories with no or few chapters. So a no-chapter story gets one download whereas a 10-chapter story gets 10.

Yeah, we already noticed that, as at one time, we could see each chapter's individual downloads, while now we no longer can. It's frustration, yet you can only use the tools which are available. :(

I can see my downloads per chapter. Obviously I'm not eligible for membership of your 'we'.

I guess that's the distinction, sometimes 'free-access' is preferable to 'full-access'.

Then again, despite having 'full-access' for how much (combo volume and views) I've posted, I'm always surprised by the additional options when I pay for full access. No wonder I keep getting confused on which features are available and which aren't.

5,549,199 downloads. Which is, to some extent at least, an artificial measurement. If I used chapters of twice the length, I would have roughly half the downloads.

But it is a nice big number, and those are fun.

Congrats! I was pretty pumped up when I passed the 500k mark. Now I'm getting closer to the 1,000,000 threshold!

802,282 as of now from 3145KB's.

When a story is working, then the downloads tend to steadily improve. When they don't is when you realize the story is somewhat off and needs some adjustments to keep it on track!

@TheDarkKnight

So many joining in and tooting their horns that they could form a band. Unless they're using the other definition, but I've never been limber enough to auto-fellate. However my last 'real' story has recently put on a spurt and reached 1000 downloads, about which I'm quite chuffed ;-)

Hey, what can you say, everyone wants to brag once they've reached a significant, constantly moving threshold.

I my case, I just wondered how close I was to matching. Surprise!
