Halloween 2017 Story Writing Contest

It's that time of year again. Right before the leaves turn to their wonderful fall colours, it's time for our yearly Halloween Story Writing Contest.

Details are simple as usual: write a story about halloween. Submissions will be accepted as of October 1st, 2017 until October 30th, 2017.

Oh, and one important detail: This year we've doubled up the monetary prize. First place is now $500, $250 for second and $100 for third place.

That's what happens when you copy and paste without much thought. It's not good to do things when you don't have enough time to do them properly.

That's now been fixed by Lazeez but I've encountered another bug. On authors' pages, the yellow notification appears at the top of my Chrome window but the 'X Dismiss' is not an active link.

On authors' pages, the yellow notification appears at the top of my Chrome window but the 'X Dismiss' is not an active link.

The links at the right hand side overlap the dismiss link if the window is at the right size. I changed the layout a bit and now if you hover over the top third of the dismiss link it should activate.

The contest has not ended;
"This contest's stories are open for premier members reading and voting. Voting will close on 2017-11-15. The winners will be announced after that."
