The next set of chapters will be the last and will bring the storyline to its conclusion. As always, there will be a few surprises and twists thrown into the plot as we start tying up the loose ends.
We come to the end of the road. It's been a long old slog, but we got there. It's a huge story, with a great score and a massive number of downloads. It's been fun.
Typically, the story was never really meant to be a slice-of-life storyline, but there's only so much sex you can put into a story this big. How many times can he fuck his mum before that, too, gets boring?
I think, and this is something that has been pointed out by both my editor and readers, that it's the same issue GRRM is having. When you have a story this big, with too many characters, it starts becoming a problem. The focus has always been on James. He is the main character; the rest are just NPCs, chosen by Death or not.
Either way, it's been a fucking ride, and thanks to my editor's massive input, we've ended up with a polished gem, complete with a beginning, middle and end.
When this is finished, I'll be reposting my story, *The Outlander*. I've rewritten and expanded it, making it both historically accurate and far more detailed. It's now a massive 20 chapters long and, more importantly, complete. Once Steven has looked it over, I'll be posting it.
I actually had a lot of fun working on this one. As it's one of my older stories, I had to go back, take another look at what I'd written and really decide how I wanted to plot it out. That meant revisiting the original ideas, expanding on what worked and rethinking the parts that didn't, while making sure the story flowed properly from beginning to end.
