I love AI. I was an early adopter when ChatGPT first hit the scene all those years ago. But, my guy, if you’re going to use AI, you’ve got to know how to use it correctly.
For example, I use it for grammar, flow, and spelling. I use it to bounce ideas around, for research, finding links, and sometimes just chatting shit. If I’ve had problems at work or ideas rattling around in my head, I can bounce them off ChatGPT and find out whether they actually hold up or just sounded good in my head.
It’s also really useful for calculations and planning. For stories, for example, I use it to work out dates for family trees, keep ages and generations consistent, plan chapters, build timelines, and make sure events actually line up properly.
It’s great for other things too. I use it to help create logos and pictures for my stories, and some of the results are getting ridiculously photorealistic, which is fucking crazy. And yet, on here, I see so many good ideas executed poorly that it makes me cry. If you’re going to use AI in your work, do it right.
For example, if I see poor spelling in a description, in this day and age, with spellcheck, GPT, grammar tools, and fucking editors, dude, come on.
And I’m fully aware that I’m not perfect even with AI, but that’s exactly why I have an editor and don’t just rely on these tools. Having the human touch is more relevant now than ever. And yeah, I ain’t perfect either. I make mistakes too.
