Some of my frustration with my writing is that as my projects grow I gain characters. Even minor characters need to be tracked so that if one appears in the first two thousand words of a sixty thousand word story, I can know the way I described that character and what their name is.
I've found no easy way to do this task or one of tracking places (even rooms in a singular building) and so I'm sitting here frustrated trying to build a DB for an ongoing story and to get it to work for several helps to make my writing progress, rather than spend time creating said DB.
I suspect I could use AI to formulate a DB for me if I could even figure out how to start or where to start on the project.
Frankly, I'd rather be writing, but my projects are stalled due to needing the DB on almost all of them. The only way I can see to do that is to open a secondary file and name it something like Characters for such and such project, then stop writing to add names to a DB as they come up in a story. Which of course interrupts the flow of creating an actual story.
How do other writers deal with this!?
