This next chapter of "The Dragon Tamers" seems kind of dull (at least to me) but it's doing a bunch of different things. There's a whole lot of foreshadowing going on. Roscrow's got an uncanny ability to know the future without knowing he knows. Besides the several mentions of future events, there's also a lot of little things going on between the characters. This will not be the first time S're slips away from Roscrow, but she only gets a couple. Roscrow also learns that S're cannot be contained. He was raised with chains, she was not. She had the kind of childhood he envies. It'll come in handy later. He hates to see her miserable even though he won't outright admit it. It probably isn't totally obvious yet, but Roscrow really likes Jasper by now. They've been at it just like they do for the last couple of days and Roscrow is just tickled that Jasper holds his own. That's why he doesn't want Jasper to go after S're, knowing that will only sour their relationship. The man is quite calculating.
I should have the next chapter ready in a couple of weeks. It's halfway done. And I'm halfway with another chapter of The Rat and the Dragon. Slow and steady. I'm not a fast writer, but I don't stop. It's just in my soul.
