I'm happy to announce that Gabatrix: The Forgotten is being uploaded to Storiesonline. It's the first book of the year, with more Gabatrix to come.
Set a month after Gabatrix: The Batrice Crisis, mankind launches an expedition to the great reaches far beyond human-controlled space. The goal is to investigate the unknown race known as the Venermax, a supposed species that the Itreans encountered almost 100,000 years ago. With the T'rintar clan alliance in place to reveal their location, humanity takes its steps to uncover the secrets of this new, possible alien race and establish first contact.
But disaster strikes. Doctor Theron, the leading scientist behind the expedition, has vanished. The mission is in jeopardy. It will be up to everyone to unravel the mysteries of the Venermax, while Theron endures his long road of survival, trying to uncover the truth of everything he was sent to explore, while not perishing in the process.
Gabatrix: The Forgotten is a drama, light psychological thriller, action, suspense, mystery, light horror, erotica, survival science fiction story, one of the very few stories that purposely steers away from the main premise of the Human-Itrean conflict. In many ways, it's a refinement of what Gabatrix: Minerva had accomplished that began the entire Gabatrix series. It's a nice, perhaps brief, break from what the rest of the Gabatrix stories are set to be.
With finishing up Gabatrix: The Forgotten, the familiar question comes into place. What's next? This week, I intend to work on the Gabatrix: Warrior of Silence audiobook since I've received all the audio files from my voice actress. Music is going to be added, tuning to make sure that it's suitable for Audible's rather strict format rules and so forth, before publishing it. I'm also going to work on an overhaul of the Gabatrix website. It's long overdue for an update, adding new content, links, fixing any possible broken links, and polishing some of the little issues that have persisted in it. Major updates to the website are going to be done once a year. Most of the reason is that Google and other search engines make the website difficult to find, along with other smaller indie websites that have similar issues. Google tends to favor marketplace sites and other major trending websites that easily overwhelm most searches, more so than ever before. Regardless, the website is getting an update.
After this, I'm also going to get started on the next Gabatrix book, Gabatrix: Darin and the Frontier. This future story is the only book that will take place in the past, happening after Gabatrix: The Wheels of Thunder and before the events of Gabatrix: The Last Tank. I already have Piero Painter working on the book cover as I type. Darin and the Frontier is going to be a fun story, dealing with Christopher Darin, the CEO of Darin Industries, as he helps forge the Blue Buccaneers, creating the Earth Defense Force, and going to war with the Aksren and Shal'rein clans in whatever ways possible with whatever resources wasteland Earth can offer. Only a brazen cowboy, his courageous volunteer crew, and his Itrean wife ever have any hopes of taking on such a momentous task as he ventures into the deepest regions of Itrean space.
With Gabatrix: The Forgotten, it will be a good month before it is published, so that others can help point out any little mistakes that might have slipped through the cracks. Hopefully, Gabatrix: The Warrior of Silence audiobook will be published by the end of April as well. Until then, your feedback matters. Don't be afraid to tell me about any errors that have worked their way into the woodwork, especially when the stories can reach 140,000 words. Anyways, enjoy Gabatrix: The Forgotten. :)
