This is my first new story in quite a while, and I have a special contributor on it. Svtin had worked with me on Wedding, offering AI generated illustrations for scenes in the story. That was something totally new to me, and despite a few negative responses (“,,,while I've enjoyed your work in the past, your choice to use generative AI forces me to wish you well and stop reading your works...”) was generally well accepted. Then svtin offered to continue working with me and I mentioned a story I had just finished days before.
Thus Photo Finish was born. While we worked on the pics for Wedding, the problem was that it was difficult to get the pictures to mesh completely. It was tricky to get the outfits and scenes to match what had already been written. With this new story, if the AI couldn’t come up with a pic of a skintight miniskirt, but made a flirty miniskirt, I could rewrite the scene quickly to accommodate the different outfit.
