I'm happy to announce that Gabatrix: The Batrice Crisis story is being posted on Storiesonline. One of the biggest and most significant stories in Gabatrix is finally complete. This was a big one to fill, and one of the more satisfying stories and events to create, serving as the culmination of the past Gabatrix stories. For the newcomers, I highly recommend reading the past Gabatrix stories before diving into the Batrice Crisis. I view this story as just as important as stories such as the Cipra Campaign, serving as the endpoint of a series of stories, while beginning with something new. No doubt, Batrice Crisis will be filled with its share of drama and action as humanity is faced with a 24th-century Civil War.
It wasn't easy having to write this story, as I had to deal with severe jaw pain and ultimately an infection that required me to go to the hospital. It was later learned that a bad tooth had infected the trigeminal nerve and glands on the left side of the jaw, making it extremely difficult to eat, talk, and swallow. I am being treated for it and recovering pretty well, finally reaching pain-free and away from the pain medication. It did slow down the writing, but I'm glad that it's finally done.
I do plan on letting Batrice Crisis sit around for a little while so that others can help point out any grammatical errors/mistakes. Obviously, with a story that's 200K in words, something is going to slip through. Constructive comments are always welcome as I place my stories on Storiesonline to purposely be critiqued. I do plan on publishing this story on Amazon, Bookapy in about another month.
About a couple of months ago, Gabatrix: The Shira Maneuver, final edition, was also updated on Storiesonline. I have all the audio files and am in the process of submitting the Gabatrix: The Shira Maneuver audiobook to Audible. This will take some time, since Audible is very strict on its rules when it comes to audiofiles and how they're setup (like even if the audiofile is 0.1 DB off, they'll reject the file). It normally takes them about 2-3 weeks to process all of it too, but Shira Maneuver audiobook publishing is hovering around the corner. :)
So the question is, what's next? I've actually been debating with myself on what it is that I want to write with such a big plate ahead of me. I was considering writing StarFall and the Tales of Heroes next, but I do want to keep pushing forward with Gabatrix. With StarFall being something just as big as Batrice Crisis and the fact that Batrice Crisis was pretty exhausting to work on, I do want to focus on something a little more easier to write. At this moment, I feel that Starfall should be placed on hold for the time being. I do have the Aerondight trilogy that I want to inevitably write, but I'm still debating on when that story will finally pop. Unlike the other stories, Aerondight will be much more human-focused, but may hold hints of Tales of Heroes and what will become Gabatrix in the storyline's future. In the meantime, I'm going to look into writing the next Gabatrix story, Gabatrix: The Forgotten, dealing with a brand new alien race along with another story that I want to write Gabatrix: Darin and the Frontier (title name pending) that will deal with Darin and the Rampage crew set between after The Wheels of Thunder and before The Last Tank. Darin is something that I think will be alot of fun to work with as you're going to see the cowboy captain more and more often in Gabatrix as time progresses.
