Friends, the hot weather is fast approaching us, and in some places (like California) is already here. Many of you will take your fur baby (dog) out with you and run errands. PLEASE, do not leave them in the car with the windows open an inch or two. The inside of a car, on a summer day will quickly heat up to the point that your dog will have heatstroke and die. So I suggest the following. Fill the water bowl at home with fresh, cool water, give them a tummy rub, and tell them you will come home ASAP. This way, you return home to a happy, healthy, ALIVE pet. (I know this is something that shouldn't need to be said, but some folks tend not to think.)
Have a wonderful summer! - Krista
UPDATE: Several of you have replied to remind me that this is also a situation where children are left in hot cars. It astonishes me that a parent will be so stupid to do this.
