In the 1970s, I lived and worked in Sydney, Australia, and was always fascinated by the people and the country. Unfortunately, my career led me to other countries, and I settled in Brazil. Retiring about five years ago, I started writing a story about two people falling in love. To my surprise, the story took on its own life and developed into a long novel. I published it on SoL, and it was well received.
I was not too fond of it, however, and looked for an editor. No luck. It stayed in SoL archives until I found a very competent editor, who offered very graciously and competently to look through my story and improve it.
What you find now is a tale re-written, edited, and checked competently for errors and inconsistencies by rlfj, and much better than my first attempt. It is a fantasy about people falling in love, succeeding in business, having fun, resolving their problems, and improving the world.
The first part that you’ll read soon, shows a young German workaholic businessman meeting a young girl at a party in Sydney, and with the help of a bottle of Grange Hermitage, a Porsche Carrera, and Joan Sutherland singing Casta Diva, they fall in love. There will be problems - her mother is a successful businesswoman, with whom he tries to close a big contract, but she does not like him at all in the beginning, but in the end, they realize their love.
